Agree with the last two posts- both CLG and BL would play finals in DIV 5 without a doubt. The quality of the top few sides in Div6 is equal if not better than that in Div5 at present. Only difference is there isnt as many 'easy' games in div5.

I can only go on results in Div 6 and what I've seen in Div 5 this year, but if CLG have improved from last year then they would be very competitive in Div 5. And judging by Brahma's current list and results, I feel the same way about them. I honestly don't think the jump from 6 to 5 has been that big. One major difference though, is you get a tough game every week (except for maybe one round).

In Div 6, you probably get at least 2 or 3 relatively easybeats which can allow a side to be slightly off the boil and still win. In Div 5 if you're slighlty off the boil on any given week, chances are you'll get beaten.

It's a bit hard to say that BL and CLG would be equal if not better than Plympton, Pultney and Rosewater without having seen them play this year surely?

And vice versa. BL and CLG are the best sides I've seen play in either div 5 or 6 since Para Hills and Mitcham 4-5 yrs ago and now look where they are- both doing well in Div 3 I think.

i dont think there has been any team from div 6 who has gone up and then relegated straight away over the past few years which would indicate its not that big of jump. think both para hills and golden grove got to the gf in div 5 in their first year. and hope valley and WOS are doin well this year. watching heccies back in 06 when we were in div 5 and i would agree wid SD in saying the bottom teams could play some decent footy.

and if you look at the teams that have come down, CU this year and BL last yr, both struggled in div 6...obviously BL turned things around. even looking at the trial results this yr and seeing div 6 teams knock off div 4-5 teams

i think Brahma lodge is a bit bitter on that they are in Div 6 and plympton is in div 5, all the talk on how they have beaten us and have the stats, yous are only as good as your last game against us.

plympton scored 35 goals + on that day, from memory BL scored 10 for the whole match. game was at Plympton on our 75th birthday.

Wasn`t BL meant to be in div 7 this year? seeing their results so far this season in div 6 i wonder what they would be winning by in that grade, and i am sure they also beat a fairly competitive div 5 team in a trail, as eddiev said you can only beat the side you`re up against.

someone should also mention trinity would play finals in div 6 or a certain trainer of theirs might get a little testy that they arent being mentioned in the same breath as the big boys of div 6 ;)
