If we go back over last seasons thread I think you will see I predicted the name change, and happily gave them the name - Mozzies!
Sorry, it just had a nice buzz to it.

The_Warrior wrote:The Warrior can confirm while the name change is likely, the nickname of the Saints will remain, thus making them the Mawson Lakes Saints (not a great name for Kenny Sutcliffe!). The Colours will remain the same, but with a SPOSFC logo printed on the back of the jumpers similar to a FFC on the Western Bulldogs Guernsey's. The Club looks forward to striking up a good rapport with the community of Mawson Lakes, but will not forget it's heritage beginning as the St.Pauls Old Scholars Football Club back in 1993.
Footnote: The Club is also pleased to announce the appointment of Rob O'Gorman as a playing assistant Coach for next season. Rob has most recently been involved with the recently successful Mt.Lofty Football Club in the Hills Central Competition and we wish him well in his new role at our Club.

Can not wait for the new season to start. Lets hope it is more successful than last year.

not sure who he's likley to drag to Div 7 with him RIddler- but a quality player Glenunga will get.
60 goals as a mid-fielder is quite a achievement, & he won the Div 4 Goalkicking.
He will create headaches for opposition coaches, but the question I have is- will his team-mates have the footy smarts to give off to him at the right time, will they become too Bourke-conscious, or will the role of playing coach wear him down?
I wish him all the best, & as a former club-mate (& playing coach myself) will follow his progress with interest.

Even if he brings 5 quality mates, I'd imagine they will still struggle. Not too sure on the quality in Div 7. But I say this in the nicest way possible- not one of their players would have played A grade with us (Heccies) this year.
Good luck to the guy though- it will be a massive challenge!

Heard a rumour over the weekend that Flinders University (the school) is looking at sponsoring the footy team a whopping 20K a year. Apparently the school thinks it would be in there best interest if the footy team they are associated with was playing in the higher grades. Not sure how true all of this is but if it is true I can see why Scottroo is making such bold predictions. I guess we will wait and see
