Agree, but helluva difference between D1R and D6R.

Sometimes you've gotta afford a small amount of flexibility.

What, div 1 res players dont have families or jobs and Div 6 players do? Stop using the grade difference as an excuse - dont know many div 1 res players who get paid to make a difference!

Wow! Didn't realise where I seen my priorities in life where so open it interpretation!

Let me clear up, from the start I never disputed their moves/ changes, read back a few pages I said I understand and respect their move!

However I'm disappointed that my situation which hasn't changed all season has now become an issue for a coach to use as a point of blame for a sub standard season!

I have always kept the coaching staff well informed of my position, I had tried my best to .commit to trainings this season while juggling study, work, family and playin another sport. I would say I've trained more often than not, but have never considered myself a guarantee pick for any team. I even contacted the B grade coach last saying I was working all that week and the next and couldn't train so would understand if I was dropped.

I get to games as early as possible and whether I'm there an hour before or 5 min before I still give everything I have and perform the same.

In ten years time there will be Div 5 and 6 sides in div 1 and vice versa - remember eastern pk (div 7 to div 1 in 6 years) Those that keep a professional approach attract more players and develope into powerful clubs - it depends what you want. I know CLG havent been in div 4 since the early nineties and want to rectify that and to achieve that need to attract better players - hence a more professional approach to achieving that. It may not happen this year but they are on the right track.

Not saying they don't have the same life responsibilities, just that a Div1R player is one good game away from playing in the best amateur league comp in the state.

AT D6R I think you can afford to show a small amount of flexibility in certain areas. For instance, I would be flexible with someone who couldn't arrive on time because of work, but I wouldn't be flexible with someone not arriving on time because they were hungover.

You can have structures and rules but it doesn't always pay to be completely inflexible in every situation, particularly with blokes playing such a low level of football.

Wowee! Sounds like nazis running the Bs at IF!

Bit of a joke if people who can't get to the game that early for good reason aren't allowed to play. Pretty sure B grade is for people with less ability and those who can't committ as much.

Fair enough Q - at least that is a decent argument - work is non - negotiable. Finally someone with some sence. We have plenty of miners etc that have one week on and one week off etc. But these blokes are the ones that train and play when ever they can - its the blokes that disappear or have so called other committments that make it hard. All my kids had swimming lessons and i still got to footy on time!

B grade is the feeder for your A's - this is mens footy - if your kid is playing sport and other kids dont turn up and you have to forfeit - who gets upset? Think about it lads - committment is about 1000's of clubs staying alive no matter what sport - too many excuses from non committal parents is why we have a fat society. Lazy, pathetic excuses!

Bloozebrother, the only embarrassment here is you! You don't know my situation! Bet you don't know my daughters swimming lessons on a Saturday morning is one of only two times a week I get to spend time with her.

You take what you like for granted but i appreciate every little moment.

Don't EVER question my commitment to my life or my sport, you know **** all!

I know more than youve forgotten..
