Geez fair bit of travelling.....GG looking forward to the challenge!!

Looking forward to the 2011 season already. As much as it hurts going down a division, there's still excitement as you get to front up against teams you have never played against and old rivals. Four teams from the Western suburbs should promote a bit of bickering during the week 8)

My Club has been told to contact P.A.C. coach about next year - our President was told about him and it seems he is about to lose his job after getting to a grand final. Seems harsh, but we will be happy to have a go at him. We aren't far off the mark in the Southern league and just need a bit more discipline to get back into top 4. Don't know much about the man so if anyone has an opinion I'll be happy to pass it on to the President.

If u have the chance to get Rocky do it! Great bloke great coach. Discipline, team and club rules are one of his strong points.

I hope PAC are not looking to offload Rocky i think it would be a mistake.

Why off-load a bloke who has won 18 out of 20 in your A Grade, 19 from 20 in your B Grade + a Premiership and a 2nd place finish in your C Grades. Would seem like madness and surely the Committee and PAOC people would not let this happen. Just plain and simply ridiculous to suggest off-loading the guy IMO

Will do a good job will Ricky "Steamboat" Pearce with Portland. Got some young players with lots of talent and certainly would rather be where he is now than last Year I suspect. Something to work with over the duration with a young squad. Will do it his way and will do it well, although I suspect, Andy Lipson might have been first choice if he had the time to commit. Did a great job with the Team getting them from where they were to a Preliminary Final and they certainly played with a passion.

GF experience for their younger players, also may find recruiting easier with a jump to D2.
IIRC they've been stuck in D3 for a long time?? (nearly 10 years??)

The College's 2010 1st XVIII may also provide a few good players to Old Iggies next year. We had our most successful season in years, even beating St. Peters' 1st XVIII and winning the Div 2 College premiership. Should be quite a decent Old Iggies team next year if a number of the Year 12's play.
Cheers

I should add that that was our first win over St. Peters' in 26 years.

We've never been known at strong football school by any means .

Especially when our last claims to fame were Tom Warhurst and Matt Kelly

Back in the late 80's we did dominate at drive tennis though ;)

I was at school 26 years ago. We didn't get within 28 goals of Saints. I remember that day clearly as they utterly destroyed us, with Paul Sheahan coaching the Saints firsts.

I think they beat them somewhere around 87-88, but we got utterly pantsed by the big schools in my time at the school from 80-84.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Heard Portland lads had a few words to say to some Haven lads, late saturday night. Apparently a Nick Williams was absolutely drunk and looking for trouble. From what I heard a Haven lad was set upon and kicked in the head!!!

absolutely, just a shame! Both clubs represent same area. Should be able to go and have a good ol' piss up and not end in fists.

totally agree mate, i didnt think this would be an issue as alot of the boys know each other pretty well of the field and thought both clubs got on well player wise as a few of the Portland boys go to Haven shows and vice versa. iether way things like this shouldnt happen.

Unless it is completely substantiated and with conviction there should be no comments made about this sort of thing regardless of what club or player it is.

From what i've heard it just sounds like everyone had a little to much angry juice, a few things were said and then all involved decided it was a good idea to vent their anger out on each other. At least no one was hurt.

have spoken to people from both parties and the incident has been described as a storm in a team cup, a little bit went on and its all done and dusted, both parties actually see the funny side of it and have moved on.
