As a measure of how well Carey was going he tipped last weeks Div 2 games last night and still only got 2 right. I don't know you Carey but my hat goes off to you.

Looking forward to heading out to Holland park to take on United who will likely be fired up and ready to go after their disappointing loss last week. I rekon if we can keep captain Frith and the machine Hall we are a fair chance to get the away victory. Fingers crossed Woodward has an off day and doesnt get about 50 touches like he did last time. Cant wait!

Trinity and lockleys is another game that will shape the 5. who wouldve thought 6 weeks ago that lockleys would be sitting a game out of the 5 and facing an uphill battle to make finals!

My god just looked under the heading 'Reverse psycholohy' in the dictionary and it had the reading of the div 6 write up of Central United v CLG this week fair dinkum come on!

Fair dinkum Central United by 2 goals =)) You idiots.....

Your coming off a 10 goal win over the grand finalist side in Blackfriars and we lost to Uni you idiots..........

No Garner No Addulla both to the story of units year we'd rather fight than play footy.

Woody 50 touches hahaha has not happened once that I've seen.

And as for Holland park pffft he'll probably get sacked not making the 5!

May work at Mortlock psrk but come on lads get real

ok....

a) i had no idea Garner and Abdulla were not playing
b)the 50 touches was said tongue in cheek but the bloke did kick 7 against us last time i believe
c)The person from CU who did the write up in the talking amateurs budget has picked you blokes as well
d) you did beat us at OUR home deck earlier this year and you play your own oval very well
e) we beat Blackfriars last week with three of their first 18 out

while i will accept that on occasions i may have tipped against us while writing the footy news this year it is only because i am a raging pessimist and plus i think it smacks of arrogance if you tip your own team week in week out in this division where anything can happen every week. Hope you have a smashing hangover carey, see you out there today :)

Blah, blah, blah....

What is with this Div 6 love in. Why does everyone feel the need to pump up all the other sides, say how even it is and say how good div 6 is?

Is it because people are insecure about it being Div 6 and need to justify the standard?

The tipping is the same as in all the other Divs, there are 3 teams well off the pace, given the other 7 are reasonably even.

Carey is a legend and worth every cent of his new contract. Going to have two statues of him now at Shaun Holland Reserve. A ten goal win for the great man and coaching with a massive hangover. Is his Mrs talking to him yet?

So frustrating to watch today. Rival spectators chatting amongst themselves about things that happened during the game. Sometimes you just can't take a trick. On to round 17 now and an even more congested ladder with CLG going down today.

Been told of some ridiculous rumor that HDFC is closing their doors next year. Got no basis to it whatsoever and has obviously come from people outside the club with, perhaps, sinister motives. Have obviously lacked depth this year, but have always filled two sides, and despite a lack of wins the boys have been positive and have still enjoyed the year with each other and under Rexy.

Also as good a time as any to point out that the Houghton Oval Committee has been given a modest grant to build new clubrooms/changerooms. Not sure of the amount or when they plan on starting any work, but it's great news for the club.

Great to hear Q. It would be a shame for Houghton to close its doors. Thanks to Rexy and the boys today, game played in the right spirits all the way to the end. Good to have a beer with Rex and Trav after the game. Great spot to play footy and I wish you all the best.

All the best Q - CLG and HD have had some gr8 rivally over the last 20 odd years. I played in the 93 GF against you guys (banksia Pk back then) we couldnt get near you in the minor round but had a day out. Finals do that - but we have been fierce rivals ever since but we wont meet again next year - good luck and may we meet again - hopefully higher up!!

Houghton have one of the most picturesque grounds in the saafl...the more clubs in the saafl the better. Let's hope it's just nonsense.

I dont want attention FC or need it but have heard Hills are keen to bolster their country comp and may want HDFC to become involved.

3 big wins by the farmers yesterday, good way to lift the spirits around the club and ensure a lazy Sunday on the couch nursing a hangover. Also a great way to finish my season off as i'm off to Bali for a mates 50th next Saturday and will miss the last 2 games, Good luck to Wayne and the boys in the last 2 games and to all the teams still battling it out for the top 5. Will be interesting to see who is there when i get back. Pesonally would like to see a Mawson Lakes V Central United GF, would be a cracker and i have a lot of time for the 2 coaches and would like to see them succeed if we can't.

At Houghton yesterday it was good to see our young lads in the A's and B's play so well and when we can do that consistently we will start climbing back up to where we want to be.
Great place to play footy at Houghton and will be even better with the new facilities. And the oval was in fantastic condition too.
On a side note somebody up there needs to tell 5 & 16 to pull their heads in and stop being meatheads and Q, when you get tackled to the ground no need to throw dirty elbows, am so glad it didn't connect with my lads head, could have done some damage if it connected [-X
Had 2 of the best umpires for the season too.
Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts....
