Yes aceman...very good

BB..is the reason you dont like greenies have anything to do with the fact that we were the only team that was able to give you a decent game of footy and prevented GG having a 'clean sweep' in 2008

B Grade..coaches at work reruiting players as with most clubs..training has not started yet but gets underway in Nov I'm told..apart from Forthy I am not aware of any players leaving, but I have heard that a couple have had offers to go country

forth couldn't pick himself up a premiership medallion though....know which one i would prefer!!

true story KC a premiership medal would have been great..but the GG guys got one we didnt.. great effort...from our POV the 2008 season went 90 seconds too long

A 4 point loss in a GF doesnt mean we still cant be proud of the boys that pulled on the greenies gurnsey in 2008..be gracious in victory and proud in defeat otherwise it just might bite you on the ass

TBS ...Dunno about this love thing between us and the grovers, I dont have an issue with them or the style of footy they play, we had good contests against them in 2008 but they hate us with a passion..where has all the love gone in this world

Test.indeed forthy is very much in the air (not just high but out there as well)..may still play with us in div4..time will tell

I don't think we hate you turk, that's probably wrong, but the challenge of playing a team who we can now class as a serious rival and a team that tests us at all levels can only be a good thing for the competition and for all involved. To beat these rivals you develop a hate of sorts, but also a respect. I know that playing the harder, tougher teams always brings out the best in some blokes.... and don't we all look forward to the cracker games between these 2 in 09 !! Will surely draw decent crowds and a fair bit of interest.

Choccies..fair points and I agree wholeheartedly.from my pov I loved the games against the grove boys because it was allways good hard games of footy and yes we should have good crowds in 2009 and the rivalary that exsists will develop further IMO

Dont know much about the other clubs in div4 is there any love/hate between any of them..would like to hear about it

There was a great rivalry between us and Haven the last few years. Plenty of feeling involved whenever we played each other.

That probably the best way to put it choccies.
To us Turk....you are our new blackfriars. We are a relativley young club and the group of players we have at the moment have a good chance to make create some history, culture and tradition. After 2-3 seasons of our two clubs going hammer and tongs at each other we may see what already seems like a passionate rivalry develop further.

I think i may have already said it but if salisbury end up in d4 i can see a good rivalry developing between us and them.

I can also see a heated contest between us and PAOC. For future reference i have a general dislike for college sides. Saints and PAC in particular.

To be a winner you have to 'hate' the opoosition to an extent but I'm a big believer of still respecting them before, during and after a game. Certainly makes for better contests and crowd wise and bar takings etc can only benefit these clubs. Most times a good rivalry takes a few years to develop but I think over the 3 games of the 08 season a fierce rivalry has developed between GG and Greenies but I think this has mostly developed because of the respect of the opponent and knowing that easing off the gas ever so slighty will lead to a downfall... But these rivalries in teh Div will make it a great year to follow for all teams I'd say !!

Salisbury were always a rival for us in the early days in Div 7 and 6. Fierce contests, plenty of biff, plenty of comedy from the crowd and always a fair chance to finish the game with a bit of spilt sauce.... All leads back to our first year in 1997 when we made the GF in Div 7 against Salisbury a couple of weeks after playing them in an early final and having one of our guys jaws broken in an unsavoury incident. It's just snowballed from there...

I think the young group took alot of confidence in beating them in that trial last year as well. I know that game means nothing. Lets hope it flourishes. But the again for salisbury's sake i hope they get another shot in D3
