We've had one or two Gepps Cross U/18's who have been asked if they're interested in going to Greenies. They have declined. They say that they are not interested in playing for a club who's 'owners' try to blackmail kids to play there. Most of our 18's & 16's are in Centrals or Port zone anyway. Also, Under North Adelaide's own rules, if a kid plays for them on a Saturday they can't play for their local club on a Sunday. If all the best Under 18's play on a Saturday for North, what sort of a team of second raters will play for Greenies on a Sunday in Amateur League - IF North enforce their own policy. The BEST 16's and 18's from Gepps are at Port and Centrals right now as I said. (So why did I say it again?) It's been a long day!

You right the best players will play for north and the rest on the squad will play on the sunday for 18's in the ametuer league. It would still be a very good team. Its actually a smart move by north. And dont forget Greenacres roll in this. Whats in it for them. Well look at the recuriting that they have done. They are going to try and move up the div's quickly. Probably try and get to say div 3 or 4 soon. Reason for this is when there players say that are say 19 and 20 playing for north and get dropped, they'll head back to a club (greenies). Think about, its a good way to secure your future as a powerful club. And eventually they will end up in div 1 and North will get what they want and Greenies will get what they want. Simple!
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

The funny thing about all of this is that, while we don't want to lose any players to another club or clubs, there's always someone else who steps up if someone leaves.
For example, a fantasticly talented Under 14, from the outback, has decided not to return to Adelaide this year.
But, there are 4 new kids from the same area who, individually, may not be as talented but, as a group, may be just as valuable.
We have one player who I would be absolutely shattered to lose.
He's only 11 but in my time at the Rams I have never known a more admired person or player.
Everybody from the Under 18's down speaks in awe of this kid. And he's only been playing footy for a year.
Stay away Greenies!!!!!!!!!!

Start wrote:Sheik you made an insightful post, with some great points. But I think there is a huge opportunity here for the other clubs which this could affect, is to put together their own Junior development program, if they havnt already. With a part time/Volunteer to run the program, get your local club to buy in, as far as coaching advise, relevant skills etc on what they are looking. I think you find they will jump at the idea.

I have done this recently with our SANFL club, and the amount of information & Guidance has been excellent.

Thanks Start, but there's a big jump between a SANFL club with lots of sponsors that sit in a room flashing lights at people & stealing their money to an amateur A4 (in our case) club.
What we done over the past couple of years is get the seniors more involved, after convincing the comittee & coaching staff that ''here's your base for the future''. We now have players & coaches coming out & not only training with the boys, but also taking kids aside & teacing them the simple skills one on one, something a junior coach is hard pressed to do with only an hour of coaching per session.
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.

Let's hope for your sake that he does'nt live or move to the Chooks zone then, we've even heard of this kid & no doubt so will have his SANFL zoned club. He'd be a prime candidate for The Green Roosters to target heavily.

He's definately in the Chooks zone.
He'll be heading to North to try for U/13 special squad soon.
Lives 2 minutes walk from Gepps oval. That's why he came to us.
It just goes to prove that there is a God and occasionaly he does us a big favour!

Just looked at the possible jumper design for the U/18 NAFC-Greenacres team.

What an awful design, one of Jax Sports creations which also leads me to say that Jax no longer have a SAAFL apparel license, so they cannot manufacture jumpers, shorts or socks plus their logo cannot be put on the products used by teams playing in the SAAFL. Nice try Danny!

Surely a better design can be put forward by a graphic designer with some nouse and put some Emerald green in it because after all, Greenacres colours are Emerald/Black
