I heard tonight Mitch isnt going anywhere and is infact talking about next year with GG.

Having a chat with a few boys last night about the situation and they confirmed a similar convo with him... Family reasons were bought up which is fair enough, loves to watch his kids play and be a part of there footy and i dont think being an A grade coach gives you alot of time to do that (or as much as he would like)..

In regards to Sam Scudds i think he is more than happy to stay at Modbury and play to his full potential at a Div 1 club. Havnt heard him bitch and moan about not being appreciated enough like his brother did. We were un aware we had to worship Shane! At Modbury you dont get praise just because your huge. You have to earn it! I like Shane as a bloke and got along with him well and still do but was puzzled by him leaving to play Div 5. Money talks i guess.

At GG you don't get praise because your huge either sass.... You do however earn the respect by doing a full pre-season, training hard, respecting your team mates, being a good clubman and helping your team get to a GF. Oh.. and did I forget to mention 100+ goals ??

He has done huge amounts for GG this year and kicking 100 goals is massive effort. My comment about earning your stripes was more based on last year Shrek. He was in a higher grade and had to work alot harder for his goals and spot in the side, at times he struggled to make an impact on the games. This year is when he could of really stepped up in Div 2 and shown that he isnt going to rely on his size to get him places and instead is going to work hard and prove he is one of the best big men in the SAAFL. Instead he dropped back to Div 5 where yes he has achieved a huge amount but against a lesser oposition.

Like i said really like the bloke but think he took the easy road (if his reasons for leaving where to do with not being appreciated as he stated)

I guess it is a win/win then. Your club has gone forward without him which obviously shows the great depth you have there and we really benefitted from having him in our side. Talent and ticker are sometimes confused... some blokes just dont have that x-factor to drive them to step up... Maybe he's one... But he has sure been great for us and like you, I like the bloke too... afterall, at that size, do you think I'm going to say otherwise !!!
