Pearcey, could that be regarded as poaching given you knew he plays for another club

In this case he used to play footy for Gepps X, he came to play cricket for us this season - so he has an association with us, we didn't go and knock on his door or phone him out of the blue, and he asked us about playing as many of his former Gepps X footy team-mates are also in the cricket team.

In my opinion poaching is when a kid has no association with a club but an adult representative of that club contacts him and tries to persuade him to go there.

If a kid or his parents enquire about moving clubs then that's definately not poaching, unless some reward is offered like free boots or no fees, that sort of thing.

Also if we run into a kid who played for another club and was not happy there then we have every right to ask him if he wants to play for us.

The new players who have joined us this season have all said they left their previous clubs because they weren't happy.
And you know the biggest reason they give us is when they have played in a team with the coaches son and a 'clique' forms around the coaches son and if you arn't one of his mates you are treated like s**t.

One kid who may quit footy because of the reason above was the leading goal kicker in a premiership team last season and, because he wasn't part of the 'clique', was given no credit for his part in the team success and never got a pat on the back for his efforts. All because he wasn't a mate of the coaches son.

Nah, your doing it all wrong, pester the association to make your coaches the association coaches, then you've got the full list of the best kids to ring & offer free tracksuits, rego ect in the summer. If that does'nt work don't send your kids out to association training. There's no point as they may get injured & deny the drunks at the bar another junior flag to fellate over.

Yeah, I heard about that tonight. Our guy had a good chat to you.

I think your boy is an Under 11, anyway, and his boy is an Under 10.

I think we came away empty handed.

I'm looking forward to our trial games in April

Um...Shiek, are you sure you know what you just wrote...fellate?????

Yep, your trying to tempt me into naming a couple of side streets that adjoin football clubs.

& yes we both came away empty handed from cricket training, looks like the boys will play together, but for the school. Be a good team though, 5 from Fitzroy, 2 from Geppys, 2 from Walkys, same Gaza & Broadview. Right little NEMJFA melting pot.

''There's no point as they may get injured & deny the drunks at the bar another junior flag to blow smoke up each others arses over''
is that ok fellas?

edit - really should have put ''patting each others backs'' just using profanity, the language of the lazy.

Well, regardless of the debate posted previously, we have had an excellent turn out, although the hot weather had kept some of the younger boys and girls at home.

While some teams, from Under 6's to Under 18's have just a few vacancies, we still have plenty of room for more boys and girls tuning 5 to 8 this year, boys and girls turning 10 and boys turning 13 and 15.

Although Auskick will commence later in the year, we have trial games in early April for the Under 6's, 7's, 8's, 9's and 10's.
