perhaps we could lump the racing industy and SAAFL in the one basket . Shreky and Booze equal favs in a handicap at Morph, Takeover Target and Rebel Raider leading at The Barton

The vote has just come in.

David Green has been voted off the executive, with 49 clubs agreeing to let him go.

messy business that was. felt like an ultimatum in the end, one goes or a few go.
it was handled in the best way possible tonight.
there was no winner in my view just lots of unanswered questions.

Sprinter, did you feel clubs were pressured to vote against Greeny after this came to light?

I dont think there was an option in the end, vote green out or the whole rest of the executive will stand down. I thought it was handled poorly and made the executive look childish.

I don't think there is any doubt in that!
A question was asked from the floor as to "what will happen if DG is voted to remain on the Exec?" Initially the chair responded by saying " that will come to light in due course". The question was asked again and 2 Exec members indicated they would be resigning if that was the case.
IMO that question should never been given a response from any exec members as it was obvious that the remainder of the exec would have walked also. So who wins then, noone.
Was a gun held at delegates heads on the subject, no, but it might as well have been IMO.
A couple of queries on the handling of some details about the Govt grant for computers were unearthed by DG which made a couple of earlier statements from MS look a bit silly.

Incidentally, it would be wise in the future that noone ever makes the statement to or about anyone "had you been close by I would have tipped you on you're ar$e " because that has been one of the major issues in this sad debacle.

you had to give the decision some serious thought based on the question posed from the floor about where to if he was voted to stay.
yes two stood and answered and gave their reasons. at least one other shook their head indicated they would not stay.
it should never have got to this stage. impartial third party mediation to resolve outstanding issues should have been put in place before it came to the clubs to vote on.
it may not have made a difference to the end result but at least it would have ahd a chance of being resolved before becoming public.

Considering I attended a 2 day mediation training session last year that the SAAFL suggested to clubs it seems another case of do what I say not do what I do.
Whatever makes you happy
