PAOCFC meet the new coach (we all know rocky anyway) but for new blokes, anyone welcome @ the alma from 6.30 on the 25th of Nov
pre-season starts on dec 7th on the back oval times to be decided soon.

Meeting at Pooraka Footy club tonight at 6:30pm to discuss when pre-season will be starting etc. All new players welcome.

ff should be an old danny harrington pre season. start after the Jan long weekend 3 nights a week for 10 weeks. 30 sessions if you cant get fit by then you werent going to anyway. keeps blokes fresh for later on.

We start training on the 2nd of December for a few sessions before Christmas. Then 3 x a week like you said for the first couple of months before trial games.
New gym being set-up at the club also which will come in handy. All new players welcome!

HOPE VALLEY Pre season training is back at the club for the next 3 Tuesdays starting on the 24th. The oval has been made available thanks to some work being done on it and the cricketers ironically training at St Pauls!!

With more clubs starting earlier and earlier each year its interesting to see what Goodie Saints are doing considering they have been the benchmark for years, maybe they are onto something

This is going to impress the players that would prefer to start late they have 3 runs prior to Christmas and then go flat out in the new year. There would be a fair chance that they look after themselves pretty well on their own though.

I think recruiting is one of the major reasons Pre Season is starting earlier and earlier each year....If you start mid to late January or even Feb for some teams it can be hard to get new players as they have already been snapped up somewhere else and training with their new team and mingling with all the players....early bird gets the worm as they say.

I personally don't think you gain too much fitness wise from starting so early before xmas & new year but I know one of the reasons we are starting this week is so potential recruits can mix with the playing group early on and familiarise themselves with the club before we break and comeback in Jan.
