I know trinity would accept moving up to Div 5 if given the chance but understand there are a couple clubs before us that have the option. We have lost the last 2 prelim finals in Div 6 by less than a kick so feel we could be competitive in Div 5. Don't think we would set Div 5 on fire but would be reasonably confident that if we played Div 5 we could avoid relegation.

Looks like it. I hope the club gives everyone at NH the choice of whether to stay in Div 6 or get premoted.

I personally would like to stay in Div 6 for this season. Being premoted automatically is a kind of 'Get out of jail free card' if you like but IMO don't think our playing squad is good enough just yet to play Div 5 footy so I think it would be in our best interests to stay in Div 6 for this season and at the the day, it was our fault for being regelated to Div 6 and it should be up to us and us alone to get ourselves out of it.

I disagree mate. You guys should jump at the chance to stay up. IMO, it portrays the wrong message to the players and the club as a whole if you stay down - the right message should be that you fight tooth and nail to play the highest level of footy you can. From what ive heard, Haven have recruited ok and have turned the corner in regards to the way the club is heading. The list you have should do ok in D5, and with plenty of young guys, can build a platform to get back up the grades quickly. You dont need a heap of cash to get back up to D4 - trust me, i have witnessed how things can turn quickly first hand.

The burning question is which big club will end up fielding their Cs/Ds in Div 7 and 7R? Modbury? SMOSH?

Seems there is a riddle that Ovingham might be that team. Looks like BOS or North Haven might grab a lifeline and if they don't looks like TOS might take it to Div 5. However there is still a missing piece in which existing Div 7 club joins Div 6? Glenunga/Fitzroy are probably in the best position to do it

Nobody has to go up to up to Div 6 if they don't want.

Glenunga came 4th last year so they are well down the pecking order.

I would say we will have a decision on the Div 5 and Div 6 replacements in the next day or so

i'd assume modbury as they were there last year.
i know flinders park also nominated for div 7 and they would go okay.

Might be hard to see but i think Smithfield should enter the 2 sides in Div 5. Im a big believer in 'If you build it they will come'
They will have a very motley B grade and wont win a game but im sure they can find enough old blokes come outta retirement and young lads will rock up for a game that maybe stayed away in last couple years coz they didnt make the B grade cut.

No matter what A grade side Smithfield put out they will be competitive. Thats just the way they are.

I appreciate your support and best wishes, the problem you face when you are lacking numbers is that players know they will get a game and it makes it harder for the club to get rego out of them, seen this last season in a big way.
You don't put teams on the park for the sake of it, it needs to financially viable, yes the A grade would've been very competetive but you don't know who'll you'll get rocking up for the B's......if any.
As far as getting some old heads out there, one or two games in and they get injured and you're back to square one.

So what can we do to help you & the club LMcQ?

I think there's another club not quite as far out that's in some financial strife too, what's happening with them because I think they are trading 'insolvent' which is against the law, their creditors are forming a very big line.

Our woes aren't financial issues mate, apart from not having the luxury to pay players anything close to the ridiculous amounts being thrown at them, oh well, if you have it, flaunt it.

Just heard that Nth Haven going up to Div 5, Ingle Farm up to Div 6 and future of Paralowie uncertain. (Don't exactly know what that last part about Paralowie means).

Best of luck for your boys for the season then boosh. So counting on the season fixtures stay the same (replacing smithfield with north haven) we are off to largs first up.

Heard a couple minutes before I posted. Dont know if it came out of last nights meeting or whether it was only confirmed during the day today. We obviously had a bit of interest in the subject as we were keen to move up if the opportunity arose. Hopefully we can meet Nth Haven in Div 5 next year instead.

Both North Haven and Ingle Farm are proud clubs and should be applauded for stepping up. Just questioning though if it would be in their best interest to do so, with both coming off horrendous seasons and haven't set the recruiting world alight in 2011? Perhaps TOS and Glenunga/Fitzroy would be the better options.
