From reports of the game today, SA's skills were second rate. Pretty embarrssing not to win a game at our home carnival.

Well this has turned into a complete farce.

All Australian Selection will be interesting? How many will SA have. My guess is 4.

Big story might break later in the week regarding the carnival. Some one could be in a bit of trouble if my sourcess are right.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Hearing rumours that the All Ausralian side will be a contrived pick with some players getting a guernsey possibly under false pretenses. I hear the winning State would have 7 All Australians, 2nd have 6, 3rd have 5 and 4th have 4?

So SA, likely to come 4th by a long way, get 4 in the All Australian side and Victoria only get 7.

Surely it should be picked on merit can some one tell me is it posible that the 4th best player from the State which came last is a better player than the winning State’s 8th best player ?

Well if SA come 4th by a long way they don't deserve a guernsey, did SA play a hand in this rediculous decision?

Congratulations to Cam De Visser, Tom Barry, Todd Blacksell and John Noonan on their AA selection.

I think it's disgraceful that most of you are belittling these blokes for stepping up and wanting to represent their state, no matter whether you in favour of the format or not.

Have a crack at the format if you will but leave the blokes who represent us alone instead of accusing them of not being worthy.

Not the players but the concept. The AA side is contrived. As stated before the winning State got 7 All Australians, 2nd ve 6, 3rd 5 and 4th 4.

Victoria who won by a mile deserve more players simple enough.

I hear some players got more votes but not selected because they didn'y fit the selection positions.

Some of SA's AA did not even make the best players in some of the games but were given AA spots.

Once again not bagging the players just those in charge of the whole concept.

Representing the state is fantastic, well done to them. How you play is another aspect which by putting their hand up to play, they can also be judged on how they go about it, and some of them don't cut the mustard. It was obvious when watching Friday & yesterday that some of the players representing OUR STATE should not have been in the team, More to do with the wayward selection process for mine.

One of our All Australians didn’t play in the one game we won!

He played in 3 games where we kicked 1, 0 and 3 goals.

And we were smashed in all 3 and still managed to get All Australian.

Not the player as previous stated but the contrived voting.

not knowing anything about the state games could i be stupid enough to ask a couple of questions
do SA still pick their side on the basis of under 23
do the other states have the same criteria
if the anwers are as i believe who makes the ruling of our team selection, the powers that be or do the clubs have a say in this
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

1/yes
2/yes
3/the coaching panel picked a squad and sent it to the clubs. as far as im aware no clubs were consulted.

imo they should send all div 1&2 clubs notice and get them to send out or name their best 3or4 u23's then go from there. then invite blokes from lower divs that are clearly good enough because there are always a few.
this year there were a number of blokes listed in the origional squad that wernt even playing in the amatuers this year!

thanks for that TB
wondering how many players picked for the squad actually accepted
for SA to be totally embarressed as they have been, something is awfully wrong with our whole process
if a coaching panel picked the squad it is obvious they were going on past reputations because for one they picked players that dont even play in the league
i wonder how many games and teams they go and see before selecting their team
and was the coach a club coach or was he appointed from out side the clubs
if a club coach i believe this is the wrong way to go
how is a club coach going to be able to dedicate the time and effort to this job while looking after his club
it doesnt work as the results show

jamie Thomas from Kilburn was the coach. who from all accounts is a very good coach. i dont have an issue with that side of things as who ever is coach is going to get the players for a limited time anyway.

no probs with the coach but believe that he or she should not be aligned
maybe these are some of the changes SA need to look at if they are ever going to be competive
