We lost two under 18's to Portland.. both heading to their 3rd club in 3 years.

Think Rae will be at a SANFL club next year too.

That's about it from SMOSH..although I hear the President is making a serious comeback (Sober October underway!) and has his eye on a fwd pocket in the A Grade!

No real surprises there. What club is he heading too?

Believe so - disappointing for us - Georgey is a very talented footballer, and a really good kid.

That is disappointing, he's been at SMOSH all through juniors and can play, has played Maggies and I think he won a metro west medal in U14s and has been in a few team of the metro west team of the year over the past seasons. I believe he was encouraged by Port to move to Districts last season and then moved back to SMOSH this season. Any idea why he's now moving to the Thunder Dome?

Ricky Pearce lives across the road from him.

I think he nearly went there last year, after surprisingly playing in the Portland trial v Walkerville

Could be wrong but I think I remember a few of our younger guys playing in a trial game for Portland just for a bit of fun aswell.

Not sure Hosie had anything to do with Kilburns resurgence last season ( I am pretty sure nothing) but they have definately set their sights high for 2012 and have started selective recruiting earlier than for many years. Amazing how a bit of success takes away all the BS associated with some of the darker innuendoes about our Club. Notquite so hard to talk to prospective players now.

He will be joining joining WWT eagles; The reigning premiers...
This could be the James Podsiadly story of the SANFL...
Hopefully he can impress the right people, and have a similar impact at eagles to what he did at SMOSH!
great bloke and deserves a chance.

I am sure there was no encouragement by Port for him to go to Districts. The only encouragement he got from Port was to train more.

Well with the good bunch of young players you've got and add to that a couple of key position players (especially a ruckman) it won't surprise me if you guys do well in Div 3. A good all round club (team/facilities etc) without the egos many sides seem to have (bar Shrek  ). Good luck in 2012.

Kilburn must have some money to throw around, big word coming out of the club is that they are paying him 5k to be an assistant and do homework on other teams.

Ah dont ya love silly preseason. Ram you have no idea and my old mate Jimmy 041, I would prefer to recruit you for that money just to get the Coopers sales up. Not to mention having that rather sarcastic wit of yours around the place.
