Dunno if its relevent or not but in 1987 (I think) I ran water for the Mitchell Park U18s and they played only 3 other clubs, Payneham, Norwood Districts and Athelstone.

Does anyone know how I can pick up copies of "Budgets" from the former leagues? Not having lived in Adelaide, I never got the opportunity to see any of the former leagues (GSA and NNA).

I tried for ages to get one from the NMFL in the mid-1990s in the season immediately after they folded. The last secretary said they had some and could send them to me but I never did succeed in getting any copies. The same for the comps that folded in the 80s, the closest being a fixture handbook from the SAFA in what would have been their second last or last season ... unfortunately that went missing long ago.

If it's who I think it is Phil - that lady was a VERRRY busy volunteer and was busy keeping a dying competition, and maybe even a junior competition and club going.

She may not have been arrogant - just busy.

And Phil I can promise you that the NMFL never had any 'budgets'. They had a program book each season - and maybe team sheets for finals, but that was it.

Fred Bloch can be contacted c/- Commerce Department the University of Adelaide 8303 4455. He is a wealth of knowledge and, coming from North Adelaide may have an idea of where to start re: the North Eastern League aka Norwood North.

How much easier would it be to get old SAFA "Budgets"? I gather from the responses that the other defunct leagues would be nigh on impossible.

I'm finding it just as hard to find stuff now that I moved to Perth to find WAFL "Budgets", etc. Nothing as simple as visiting Gerry's shop in Unley as I used to do when on holidays in SA and there are virtually no old wares shops compared to Melbourne.
