Massive 3rd quarter by CBC blew us out of the water though. Looking forward to having a couple of key players return and playing them on a neutral venue in the finals.
The players were very disciplined and are obviously well coached by a very experianced football brain.
However would love to know what Jars thinks of their crowds antiques! Apart from one little scuffle before halftime the game was played at a very high quality with no incidences to report, however once again the CBC crowd thought it would be a good idea to yell abuse at our players on the way off the ground. Absolutely no reason too. IMO I think both players and coaching staff are embarrased at some of the stuff that comes out of the supporters mouths.
I also think it is only a matter of time before an ugly incident occurs at the top of the stairs there. It seems to be the place that all the supporters congrigate and is also right next to where the players walk off the ground and right near the changerooms. When you have idiot supporters who yell abuse I think it is a disaster waiting to happen!

That end of game stuff is not necessary (would love to know what was said as the bloke involved is not a club member), but it escalates when it goes both ways.
Plenty of more hostile places to walk off the ground in Division 4, we cop it just about everywhere we go.

Its there for the taking - you just have to beat the other teams with a chance - CBCOC are the only ones with a relatively easy run home (which should soften you up for the finals DE )

I reckon I'd rather have Salisbury West at home in round 18, not to mention GG.

mitchell announced to the players after the game on the weekend that he would not be coaching on next year.. said after 12 years of coaching he doesnt have what it takes to gives us another year or two and has a young family that he wants to have weekends with

the blokes given us 3 great years and will be sorely missed, he has brought in a culture to our club that will only breed success from here on in and i have no doubt that without him the club wouldnt be where it is today.. but saying that im sure the players will be looking forward to a new challenge with a new coach

Don't count the chickens FS. A few years have passed since Modbury days and his kids are getting older so the time with them is precious. I'm sure he will bob up watching Modbury and that's where his commitment to a footy club will end IMO.

Ash has been a great coach and influence to the younger lads at GGFC and has taken us from Div 6 to Div 4 and helped build a solid future ahead and solid foundations for whom ever is selected to take over from him.

I think the talk from outside the club was alive and well last year but I don't think within the club any doubt of him coaching was ever mentioned. Especially from the bloke himself.

Just seems like your havin a big sulk. They called me names, we had players out, wait till we play on netural ground, was closer than scorboard said.....

Come on mate. We have all copped a verbal blashing after a game. Notice you didnt mention the stoush just before full time where a free kick was given for a punch to the head and one of your players pulled aside for throwing a mouth guard when a bloke was kicking for goal. One bloke in our B grade copped an earfull from Pooraka supporters for celebrating the win.

Dont try and dampen a great day for the dolphins, veterans day and 3 big wins.

AHAH, that was why there was so many people at your ground. Didn't see this stoush at the end.
The only older people (Veterans) I saw would have been over near your scoreboard?? Wasn't commenting on them. They were actually quite funny. I was talking about the congrigation at the top near the stairs. They were all young people most probably from your B grade. Did not see one older person there next to the stairs. Verbal abuse during the game is fine. All club supporters do it. Not a problem. I was talking about the verbal bashing walking off the ground before and after half time and then again when we were walking off after the game. Oh and no fence or anything between, our players were about 2 or 3 metres away from the offenders when they started. All I was saying was could possably lead to an ugly incident in the future as the players practically have to walk through your crowd at the end of the game.
If you think this is me having a sulk and saying that next time we will win than you are entitled to your opinion, I better leave an extra big space down the end of this message though to fit your head in as it is quite obvious you have everything stitched up this year already!

I only talked about the game on the weekend, if anything im behind. Trust me the lind is on it regarding the rest of the season. Havnt played a full strength PAC and SW where very impressive when we played them at home. Also Fitzroy lift a cog against us everytime. Kane had to head back home for personal reasons. 04 we won a flag and we werent spose too and 06 we finished top and lost one. Dont worry i understand how different finals are and the hard work is only just about to begin.

Remaining games for all Div 4 teams. What's your thoughts on your teams run home.... Home games in Bold..

CBCOC - Golden Grove, Nth Haven, Lutheran, Sals West
Sals West - PAOC, Lutheran, Golden Grove, CBCOC
Pooraka - Lutheran, PAOC, Greenies, Fitzroy
PAOC - Sals West, Pooraka, Fitzroy, Greenies
Fitzroy - Unley, Greenies, PAOC, Pooraka
Golden Grove - CBCOC, Unley, Sals West, Nth Haven
Greenacres - Nth Haven, Fitzroy, Pooraka, PAOC
Unley - Fitzroy, Golden Grove, Nth Haven, Lutheran
Adel Lutheran - Pooraka, Sals West, CBCOC, Unley
North Haven - Greenies, CBCOC, Unley, Golden Grove

For the Burra's I think it's going to be very very tough to make the finals. Already 2 wins behind 5th and needing 3 wins at least, we are going to need to play very well and have a few other games go our way....
