Because Ingle Farm have already used the option for 2 or 3 years in a row, they've been able to stay up by clubs coming and going from the league.

here we go again. this will keep the div 6 2012 forum going for a while yet.
maybe we could vote on who we want to take the final spot in div 6 in 2013 or the grand finalists just do the normal thing and move up.

Surely common sense says that, regardless if ingle farm has chosen to stay up 2 or 3 times, that if a team below them
Makes a decision to stay down then they get the option to stay up. Certainly should not
Be an option for houghton over them. It's not the farms fault that a team below
Has elected to stay in the div below...

Yes but same was said last year about SHOC and they made the right decision by staying down. If a club can honestly look at their playing stocks and like SHOC make the best decision for their club about promotion or staying down then I don't see an issue. I also think the SAAFL should get the final say on whether a side goes up or stays down based on player movement.

Would you rather stay up and continue to get belted in some instances, or take it on the chin and have a good year the next year and try for the higer div in 2014 with more confidence and possibly a flag under your belt?

Sounds good in theory Farbs, however what does it say when a team gets relegated, then stays up for whatever reason and then gets relegated again 3 times? Although they showed they can be competitive, they have finished 9th and perhaps they're thinking the best thing to rebuild is to go down and build up a bit of morale. (sorry Knowlsey, but hey, we've discussed this before...)

Lucky enough to finish 2nd bottom 3 years in a row and only 1 team went down, so we actually haven't been relegated at all in the last 3 years. How can you relegate 9th and leave 10th in div 6. If 1 comes up and 1 goes down, it has to be 10th that goes down, surely. I love Waynes positive outlook on going to div 7 too, but if it comes to div 6 or 7, 6 will win everytime. How can rebuilding in div 7 be better than having another crack at div 6 with another year under the lads belts. Our club has never been in div 7 and if we have the option to stay in div6 we will stay in div 6...

Firstly, technically, you should have been relegated, you have Paralowie and Smithfield to thank that IFFC are still in division 6

Secondly, I'm not sure how anyone feels that they're lucky to finish 9th.

Thirdly, how proud do you feel that you're in div 6 by default and for the best part struggling, not because you actually deserve to be there?

Ingle farm if they dont stay up and have to come down to div 7 will be interesting as on here people from them say they are better then div 7 but finish bottom two last three years. But since you are on a winning streak of finish bottom two last three years you should be able to stay up and give the 8 other teams a easy game each week.
Angle Vale would love for you to come down so we could show you what div 7 has to offer. and for the record if offered we would not go up, i believe you earn to go up like you earn to come down. But with Henely and TTG most likely not gunna head up to div 7 then i would say ingle farm gets another chance to stay in div 6 as the finished above Houghton.

At the risk of sounding rude, Div 7 is a very strong comp at the top end. I have coached finals in Div 1 res, and now finals in Div 7 and have not experienced a game like the one I coached in on saturday. Think a few would be surprised and our umpire was from Div 3 and asked after the game if Div 7 was always this standard because it surprised him. That's 2 years in a row now that umpires from higher levels have asked the same question. Mawson Lakes lost last years Div 7 GF remember. :D

Firstly, let me clear something up. IFFC did finish 9th and will be relegated, and deserve to be. We have had oppurtunitys to stay out of relegation this year, and to be brutally honest, we weren't good enough. So, we go down to Div 7 with no perception that its going to be easy. The club has struggled for the last few years and this year was no different, but, in the previous 12 months i feel the club has gone ahead in leaps and bounds. The results on field have been, besides a couple of games, more competitive, and one thing we didnt do, was give up. The introduction of new people to the club and the injection of youth into our side will cause some inconsistancy, but like ive said all along, i was prepared to ride that storm. So whilst some people dont like the idea of us going to div 7, it was something that should've happened a couple of years ago, but now it is, and i will give 200% to make sure this great, proud club rebuilds, and heads back up through the divisions.

Its a fair and humerous point, but if one of the sfl clubs are clever they could jump ship now before shi#t hits the fan down south and take an initiative before brighton does. Time is now

Yank i understand what your saying there but i might also mention how tough and tight div 6 was this year. It was clear that anyone on there day had a chance of winning, regardless of who they were up against. I think if you look at the ladder this reflects that with 2 sides missing the top 5 with 10 wins

I think if Ingle Farm do go down for mine they would start favourites for season 2013 in div 7.

But as i have already said i like the league should stand tough right across the board top 2 up bottom 2 down no exceptions unless new sides enter or clubs fold.....

Like i said in my previous quote, We are under no illusion that div 7 will be easy, but we will go down, rebuild and come back up a stronger unit. Its something that we need to do, no use accepting mediocrity............I think we are on the right track though.
