Well jabber if plympton play like they did last week, they will beat pulteney by about 5 goals.
It looks as if P.O.S. have a lot of avenues to goal, and Plympton have a great backline, so it will be a real test, i hope that both sides are at full strength.
Fair call, but your real strength on sat was your midfield. Ran hard both forward and back and no matter how good your forward line is, it makes things tough when you are competing against 6 backmen + midfielders. Real strength of plympton is their midfield and thats what will decide the match imo.
Yeah definately, our midfield has been stellar, i made mention to a few people a week or so ago that our midfield is our barometer. Against Blackfriars we were led tot he ball, and against HV in rd1 we were running round in circles... but i guess most teams midfield dictates how the game will unfold also.

But i think it will be interesting to see some of the match ups down back, because it just seems sometimes that perrie is out there as some sort of lure to take the best defender away from the ball.. not all the time, but it seems that way sometimes anyway... Good ploy if you've got someone to dot hat
I think plympton have backmen that are capable of matching up on perrie, but its his ruckwork in the forward lines allowing the ruckmen to fill the holes around midfield and back that catches opposition out. Plympton do move the footy very quickly out of their defence tho. All in all it will be a great game to watch.

should be ok i think kookas..last week was like a "perfect storm" with the lack of players..3-4 A graders to come back in plus bondys shadow LMAO :)

Rumour has it Bondy has give footy away to concentrate on his blossoming Cross Country running career!

??

Bondy has been a revelation on the SACCRA (South Australian Cross Country Running Association) circuit in recent weeks and there are a few people at SACCRA who are in his ear about taking it up seriously. Those who know him know he is like the energizer bunny and runs all day and with Smithfield's recent struggles he might seriously consider a change!

after seeing POS a few weeks ago i was very impressed..plympton we saw in rd 3 and i am sure they have improved..saying that, the ball is going to being flying up and down the oval at great speed..both teams move it very quickly..i think at POS and with what i saw a fortnight ago i would select them by about 4-5 goals but the strength of plymptons improvement maybe better than i am assuming..be a great game..lets hope the rain holds off

He's not a bad player J Smith is he!?! His vertical leap is bloody impressive!

Dunno if we line up with numbers behind the ball, but certainly as you said before, the midfield are always running hard to push back and give support.

Oh class player no doubts there. You dont "stack" numbers behind the ball, but i think what zed meant was that your midfield does work back hard resulting in those extra numbers behind the footy ready to work forward.

Yeah i think thats what he meant too, was just clarifying it...

The midfield does push back, but doesnt start back, it would be a bit of a waste when more often than not the boys are winning contested ball through the midfield to start dropping players back.

What's the go with everyone praising Ingle Farm this year while they are going so poor {poor results that is}. Is it because they are not going the knuckle during their games, since most have been quite one sided. Just seems strange to me that every week someone is pouring praise on the club. This sort of stuff didn't seem to happen years previous. You copped it and went down a Div, end of story.

Footnote ZED: Lose this week and I tear up my membership...............
I see the Pulteney / Kenilworth hatred is continuing Zed, you angry man..

they started it emerson :)..ahh the memories..i wouldnt rip up the card if we dont beat smithies..they are a good team and will start favorite for sure

jabber: yes they get numbers behind the ball as often as possible and have for the last 3 years i reckon..players like muir and co consistently roam the backlines with no player on them..and it works so its good team play and a well drilled system as a lot of posters allude to, and at home of course it is also helpful in keeping your forward line open because of the size of the oval..but it is breakable if you have the cattle and the discipline.."IF"

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that when they run out to play it looks as though they have an under 16's team with a few older guys shaparoning (how the hell do you spell that word?!?!) them.

There are a lot of other sides that run around with old hacks and lose every game, or in some club's case they run around with old hacks and sit in mediocraty for years just hanging in there but not winning anything worth note, but ingle farm are addressing thier problem, going to the root of the problem, and are going about thier business with juniors, without the biff, or people walking away from the club (from what i can tell from over here)...

and i reckon thier captain has a lot to do with that.
