Ahh yes, spoke to a few footy players at the Cas that night, not least of all Martin Pike who I tried to recruit while standing next to him at the urinal. We had our annual ball that night, which explains the classy threads and complete disregard for our wellbeing. There were some sore heads the next day, the day after that and at training on tuesday  Top night though :partyman:

We will be as full strength as possible this saturday. It will be an exciting day and there should be a big crowd to come and cheer us on. The lads will be fired up for it.

And you'll no doubt repeat the dosage again if you boys get up this week!

I dont think Browny has access to the internet today so he probably wouldnt repond.

Im a little surprised and dissapointed about the B grade forfieting. I thought we would have been able to scrape togeather a team given that its the final game of the season and a couple of inclusions into the A grade from last week. The core group of players in that side who turn up even though they are getting flogged week in and week out will be very dissapointed along with the B grade side for Hope Valley.

Our ressies played with 17 last week. I'm surprised you couldn't gather 18 blokes as it is the final kick of the season for them. Although, getting flogged in the wet doesn't sound overly appealing.

If blokes arent playing because its wet and getting flogged i reckon thats ordinary.

Very disappointing. For the first time in my career i was about to play all 18 minor round games and they go and pull this sh*t  Oh well, i guess i'll have to drink beer and mingle with the sponsors instead. It just means i'll be 2 hours drunker when the band starts playing!! :partyman:

Or there is always the C grade...

They only need 14 to start the game. We could have given them the other 4. I'm sure The Bartman would have donned the yellow and black to help out his magoos!! :D

Like you guys i was surprised when we forfieted the game a couple of weeks back against Lockleys and it appears again this week.

It would appear that from around that time onwards most seemed to have packed their bags for the summer off apart from the core group of players who turn up to play week in and week out.

At training it was really weird to go from 15 B grade players training one Thursday down to probably 2 the following Tuesday and the numbers never recovered for the B grade. So this is definitly not just a this week thing because its going to be wet. After all the B grade played in ordinary conditions the week before and still had just enough players.

The Darwin thing is self funded otherwise im sure we would have managed to field a C grade side up there.......but i must admit my fishing gear is already packed and ready to go!!!!

Perhaps C2 might be a better option next year seeing that 2 sides seems hard to fill for your club...

Houghton v Glenunga Get ready for the party!! :partyman:
Westminster v Lockleys Should be a ripper. Westminster too good at home
Trinity v Hectorville Hopefully a huge upset. Brain says heccies, heart hopes Trinity
West Croydon v Colonel Light Could get ugly (scoreboard, i mean)

I would think thats a bit of a harsh statement. There have been plenty of games where we had spare players. Other games it just seems the stars align and a whole bunch cant make it due to work, family and injury.

As i have already said for most of the season numbers for the B grade have been very solid for training and game day but for some reason (perhaps because of a very poor season on the field) alot of players have just vanished.

Well we're not talking about the games where you've had plenty of spare players. We're talking about Round 18 which is the second time in 3 weeks that your B grade has forfeited. I feel sorry for your blokes who have done the hard yards all year only to be let down by others. These things happen at footy clubs unfortunately and most clubs have seen hard times, but I wonder if work, family and injuries are still excuses that would be used if your B grade was sitting 4th or 5th and had to win to make the finals.... :-k
