good win by the phos boys today....bit of a shame it wasnt closer but phos looked like the fitter side over ran the demons booting 8 goals in the last to nothing. too big, too fit and too strong

so much for eastern park being premiership contenders....i know its only rnd 1 but better pull out better performances during the year to be classed contenders

phos looked like a real professional outfit today.....

Good win by the Hawks today, pretty close at half time but it seems all the bloody running has paid off. . won by about 5 or 6 goals in the end. . Looked pretty sharp on an oval that couldnt be more different to our own. .

Apparently played way too many underdone players and were found wanting...cant get away with that against a strong club like Phos. Im sure EP will improve though.

The Modbury v Pembroke game was a tough contest for 3 qtrs with the Hawks struggling to get any fluency and run happening and poor skills hurting us. A 3qtr time rocket from Philthy Phil switched the boys on and they showed glimpses of what they can produce, they won the contested footy, got the ball to runners and the skills were alot better in the last. 2 freak goals from Vanderveld and Davey from the pocket capped a good 4th qtr performance and a win at an oval we have struggled at for many years.

Anyone know if Brad Stahlhut normally play in the B grade for Flinders Park or is there a reason he was in the B's on the weekend?

Triple Header at Walkerville was a good day out. 3 very tough fought out games with all close results. Didnt see a lot of the A's but not bad for Walkies to come from a few goals down to win by 3 goals. Pity the SPOC boys bought in cartons of grog to the oval instead of buying from the club rooms, but Old Collegian boys tend to do whatever the hell they want because thats the way its been all their lives.

Tougher opponents next week with PHOS v Walkies and SPOC v ROCS. Maybe we'll be able to measure a bit more how the 2 promoted teams are going to go in Div 2

90% of your juniors are college boys - maybe start with educating them

very true that 90% of our juniors are college kids, but they then go on and play for SPOC because they cant get their own way at Walkerville. We try to educate them but they just wont listen. Those damn kids

im not using this as an excuse cause we did play poorly and were clearly beaten by a better side but im sure come round 10it will be a much different game. :) but saturday we did play a few players who had just come back from injuries "this is not an excuse" just stating a fact!!! but other than that PHOS are a well oiled team and they would surely be in the top 4 this season.. that number 1 for them is easily their star all over the park on saturday hopefully the coach seen that and he ended up in the best players...
