All the best to Anthony with his broken arm. I know he is still waiting for surgery on what was a pretty bad break of his arm. I wish the lads all the best next week and look forward to seeing as many faces from the current playing group as well hopefully many new faces over the preseason. Im looking forward to playing again next year at Ovies when work comitements allow.

Thanks Darren. Appreciate the well wishes and definately dont mind my decision to have pulled the boots on this year and have another kick. I would definately recommend to anyone that is looking for a great place to play their footy next year to have a look at Ovies over the preseason as it has been one of the most enjoyable years of footy that I have had. Played the game with alot of heart and everyone played their part throughout the year.

the season comes to an end for us this week
yes, mathamatically we can still make it,but being a realist,i doubt making up 6% and other results going our way are going to happen
been a very good and interesting year, which i have thoroughly enjoyed,to the fact that our three goals have all been reached
wish everyone all the best in the last game of the year and for those going onto finals all the best

While I think it is great for a Club to continue is it a reasonable thing to think that they will improve the competition over the next few years by having three or more sides, and this is asked with absolutely no disrespect at all.

so i take by what you are saying is that the little club is doing nothing for the competion, their for the saafl
up for debate i suppose but while we are small at the moment i will ask this about the clubs rebirth
have we been financial..yes
have we fielded a team every game....yes
have we been competive....yes
have we been in the news for any of the wrong reasons...no
any send offs....no
any reports...no
have we been able to guys a game of footy that most probably would not have done....yes
have we got ambition to grow and be stronger....yes

we mighten have the respect of alot of the league and that is upto them but we have our own pride and respect and we will be around for some time yet

So have the club discussed their plans for the 2012 season?

Will they attempt to field two teams if numbers allow or aiming for another year in c2?

More likely C1 from my mail.
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

at this stage the club is heading for another year of stability and financial good management
even tho the club has a good player roster in numbers,as we know a great number of them are in the army and the relaibility of them being their every week is hard to manage
they did pick up quite a few local lads during the year which will give them the ability to build on it
they have had a bit of interest from lads from a few clubs on the same question so i am sure the club will make the right desicions
they have advertised for coaches, trainers ect and am sure a number of issues will be put in place shortly
i am sure the rattle snakes are headed in the right direction and with the right people will ensure that the club is around for along time

is their something that the club should know
would have thought that maybe after the season they would question the whole process of c grade and get the clubs closer to the division they nominate
this year the club nominated for c4 and at that stage they had one registered player
hope the league does their homework properly on c grade this year and organise better divisions and better fixtures
but i am sure the club will be happy to play where ever they are placed

I would like to see the league put in a div 8 / 8r comp, so the clubs who want to have four teams will have two teams at home every week. Then put the rest of the "c" teams in 2 or 3 divisions.

yes mate
it looked like i wouldnt be able to do it because of a job promotion that is going to take up alot more time than i thought
saturdays were never going to be a problem but weekdays are and i wasnt interested indoing the job half assed
i resigned to the club president in the hope that maybe they could get someone with more time but thay were happy to help me out so i could remain
jason scott will be defensive coach and the main training coach
damian ferguson will be midfield coach
and im still looking for someone to help out with the forward lines
i will talk with you about the other matters when i get a spare second because i think i can still help out

:? Whats wrong with that? Whats the problem with trying to be better? In my opinion, had Ovies had better structures and game plans in the midfield this season, they would've had a greater amount of success.
The defensive coach is the only position that seems bit weird to me, but I see the need/place for a coach to work on defensive pressure and tackling etc.
