Probably.... considering he plays full forward, you play full forward... and the chances of him getting anywhere near you on the ground and spiltting you open like a grape are slim... then I can see why you looked forward to it !! ;)
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

It does seem pretty obvious now you mention it...I don't wanna come off lookin like that guy from Fitzroy a couple weeks back.

I gotta say, I'm with you Johno. I'm disappointed PAOC, and by extension Roo and Mods, won't be in the division next year.

We played against Perrie with Pulteney this year and they beat us by under 2 goals in the GF, but I haven't got a problem with that. The blokes that had to stand him loved the challenge and the whole team just set ourselves to back them up and help out.

I hope the trend of ex-AFL players going back to grassroots club continues, it's great for the sport, the league, the clubs and the players.

How much more interest and talk was there about those divisions they played in, clubs they played for and against? How much more do players learn by getting to play with and against the best?

Hope we see more of it.

You did have to stand Jonesey though Johno, and he hates full forwards

A well kept secret during last week. Jonesey, in an incident similar to Tony Giles/Ian Rainbird in 1981, broke his hand on the Saturday night of the Preliminary Final. Cost him a premiership medal - poor (silly) ba$tard

So.....not slow???

Going to the PAOCFC dinner tonight - I'll put my hand up for D Grade Captain Coach for 2010. That should guarantee me a game next year. With Jimmy Jnr coming back to Adelaide next year, we should have a good ruck combination. Hang on, with Kilburn back in D3, we might play C Grade, then Jimmy Jnr and I can ruck against Shrek in C3

I heard the bloke on 5AA his name was David and I have no idea who he is, if I knew who he was I would've told him to shut up.

Have intentionally not responded to all of the crap that has been spoken since Saturday as any response would have been seen as sour grapes. But I wont put up with our club being slandered for no good reason. Every club has one eyed people supporting it.

The fact is Roo played, you won, we've moved on. Bring on the Div3 forum.

Havent said anything on here for the same reason as DE. Jimmy was very keen to rub our noses in it. But no comeback to the end result. It is hard to take the whole Roo situation because he was the diff on saturday but its fair game. PAC invested a lot of time and resources to secure a premiership after a dissapointing 08. We lost. The only thing u will hear out the CBC camp is i wish Roo didnt play.

In regards to the website. I think u read too much into that Jimbo. Its a basic statement saying we have dont pay players. Its a ferm stance the committee has made for many years and have resisted temptation many times and missed out on a few handy players because of it. Now im not saying its wrong to pay players (dont read too much into this im not bashing other clubs) but for a small club with little resources its a certain atmosphere we want to create. Plus its a lot easier from a board prospective. Yes we pay our coach of course we do. The amount people are speculating on here is wrong. I also think the statement on the website is asking our boys to stick together and resist temptation.

Looks like its time for ol flip to move onto the div3 forum. One last thing who does shrek think he is Sam Newman

Grand Final Disappointment
Despite clearly being the best side for the season the Dolphins had a bad day at the office going down by 10-points in yesterday’s Division 4 Grand Final.

In warm and sometimes blustery conditions the boys did the club proud and battled valiantly to the finish but just fell short of premiership glory. Final scores were 13.11 (89) to 14.15 (99). Best players for the day were Robert Douglas, Nicholas Pilichiewicz, Liam Threadgold, Ben Primus and Andrew Wilson. The goal kickers were Primus (5 goals), Wilson, Konopka, Pilichiewicz (2 goals) and singles to Tom Payne and Jordan Milde.

The Club and in particular the players would like to extend a special thank you to the support shown on the day from the large contingent on ‘the hill’ (including Dirk the Dolphin). It was a pleasure to see so many people (including a number that came from interstate and overseas for the day) supporting the Club. In these times where there is little loyalty shown by some and many Clubs utilise the chequebook to buy imports to win premierships it is this sort of camaraderie and club spirit shown on and off the field yesterday that makes CBC Old Collegians the greatest football club in the world and me proud to say that I am a Dolphin until I die.
Reflecting on the season we saw the team break a number of club records and set a solid foundation to launch an assault on the Division 3 premiership. The Committee would like to thank the coaching staff, players, volunteers and supporters for their efforts during the season and we look forward to another successful year coming up.

The preparations for 2010 have already commenced behind the scenes with the news that Darren Jarman has extended his contract and will continue as Senior Coach.

This years Presentation Night will be held on Saturday 31 October with details on time and venue to be available shortly on this site.

Be sure to watch this space regularly for updates and the latest news from our Club.

Go you Dolphins!

Flipper - actually there was only one person I rubbed their nose in it and he wasn't from CBC. I said nothing about CBC other than it was always going to be a cracker of a game, and had no intention of saying anything until I was told about the message on your website from a non-PAC bloke. I have posted it again, so maybe you would like to read it with both eyes open and see what it actually says. BTW I asked some of your former team mates and Im pretty close with the 5 CBC old scholars in your team last Saturday, so tell whoever wrote this, "Dave" from 5AA, and you might as well chuck in the blokes on the hill last Saturday (a mate of mine nearly got in a fight asking them to stop swearing in front of his (and their) kids), people in glass houses................

My phone's been ringing itself to death with people commenting on the "Roo" situation and your posting above. Everyone knew he was playing for us this year. He didn't do a Bassett and only play 4 games to qualify - he trained nearly every week and played when he could, and that was nearly half the season. I wont go back over old postings coz I cant be bothered, but as someone just pointed out, D Jarman was touted as playing for you this year, to the point the first game, IIRC, CBC promoted it to the media as DJ v Roo. I dont remember anyone bitching about DJ playing, and you know what; I deliberately use the word bitching. Good idea to get over it, but dont just say it, do it, because you aint going anywhere with this $hite. BTW, we both had a disappointing 08 and CBCOC invested a lot of time and resources to secure a premiership as well......... Stop chucking stones Flipper becaue the CBCOC story is not much different from ours.........

In a hungover stupor this morning, Jimmy went on Facebook and promised every PAC premiership player a pint of Pale Ale tonight - Jimmy is no longer wealthy................
Jimmy hates CBC supporters

Wowsers hit a raw nerve. Im not going on about anything how many posts have u made since saturday??? In regards to ROO, read the whole post no complaints FAIR GAME!!!!!!!!!!!! Im not bitching about Roo playing. It is kinda rare a brownlow medalists plays div4 thats all, but we accept the situation u blokes didnt hold him to ransom just used your resources and connections to recruit a great player. We use DJ as a recruiting tool. Relax Jimbo. We wish Roo didnt play because hes a great player and the difference.

Yes situation is very similar to ours just read the post slowly NO complaints.

The only person throwing dirt on anybodys club is u mate started with our canteen now working u way through its supporters committee. Expected better from u.

The post was not intended to come across as bitching or the way u have taken it. Settle down!!!!!!!!!! I think i shouldve taken DE's advice and said nothing mayb u been looking for a fight.

You are still bitching about Roo Flipper - you got beaten by 22 players not 1

CBC supporters??????????? Is that rubbing your nose in it???????????? I'm quite happy with my comment about some of your feral supporters, and there are plenty of people on here who saw it first hand last Saturday

CBC BBQ???????????????? Is that rubbing your nose in it????????????????????????? FFS - that was before the GF

Maybe you should get Mrs Flipper to read your posts mate and explain some things to you. There's was a big difference between English and English Comprehension at school

Dont mention my Mrs again. I witnessed some ordinary displays from PAC supporters as well mate that involved my partner also another incident that involved racial threats and a glass bottle (whos throwing stones now). Dont try and create a bad name for my club. Passionate not feral. Big difference.

See you next year. Watch out for the dolphins in 2010.

One weekend down and the 'non-footy' season is going to be a long one... The saturday 'list of chores' is already a long one...

Is anyone or any club doing anything particularly special over summer to prepare for season 2010 ??
