One funny thing i did see at our game on the weekend, there was a huge dog turd at CHF before the start of the game and your ump actually picked it up with his hands and threw it over the boundary line. Didn't wash his hands and then threw the ball up to start the game. I couldn't believe it!!! Lucky i didn't get too mant possies hey ;)

This shouldnt be a problem in the future as we will be taking up the leagues offer to provide an home umpire in place of our previous umpire.

How much do they charge?

C Division Matches

It is a priority for the SAAFL that Umpires registered with the League are appointed to SAAFL matches.

Umpires will be appointed on the following basis:

• Prescribed SAAFL Umpires Fee of $70 per umpire to apply

The sooner we, as players, remember that its not AFL footy the better, the amount of times a game you hear 'he dragged it in' is baffling.. If the umpires start paying holding the ball for players dragging the ball in, its going to be mayhem!

Is it the same bloke that umpired the first C Grade game against plympton? I found it really hard umpiring with him, some time was spent midfield where i wasnt sure if he or i were in control of the play, which resulted in some frees not being paid, or both whistles blowing... thank goodness when that happened we both called the same decision!

how did u enjoy the westies game friday night jabber i was going to say hi but wasnt sure if i was allowed to talk to you yet

We do have to remember that we are playing C5, and even umpires at the top level make mistakes.. I am at times a victim of being frustrated at the umpires on game day, but at the same time can respect the job they are doing for us to allow us to play each week..

I have to agree on the call made before about players attitudes right through out C5, having played everyone bar Uni's and North Haven, I can safely say every game we have played has been played in great spirits with no 'thuggery' at all.. Which, ill admit, when I saw we were in C5, I was somewhat worried about.. But, ill be the first to put my hand up and say I was wrong, and here's hoping the rest of the season is played in similar spirits..

I was very surprised to see no thuggery and generally very good attitudes in the C grade games i have watched...the boys appear just to be happy out there running around.

Westies game was not bad, hahn sooper-doopers were going down a treat.

You by all means could have come up and said hi, i was talking to some bloke for 10minutes and i had no idea who he was, he seemed to know a lot about me though!

I remember spending a night chatting with some of your mob at footy park at a hawks game. You're ok.

Is there some sort of ban on chatting to me at the moment or soemthing?

Thought the boxing exhibition was pretty good too off the ball. Your bloke threw the biggest haymaker, lucky our bloke was going down already otherwise it could have been good night. Heard he is a boxing champion or something like that?
