Good footy match in the first half... however, WOS dominated the 2nd half, no-one could stop the Big Boy Malcolm up forward, just the lazzy 11 snag-rolls - 6 in the 3rd 1/4 ... probably 10+ contested grabs aswell... that'll bring the crowds back to div5 footy!!

What happened to that Parish fella from Blackfriars? Went down like a sack of sh*t early on.. is he badly injured??

well summarised swervyn. 4 quick goals at beginning of thrid term and we really weren't in the contest after that. i thought we had struggled and fought hard to stay in the game in the first half and be within 9 points.
parish went down in the first 2 mintues with a 'corked hip/lower back'. not sure of the technical term for the injury. he was in a fair bit of pain for 20-30 minutes and didn't return. that hurt us.
full credit to WOS, they were far too good. they are right in the hunt.

Hopefully for his & BOS sake he recovers quickly...

Hey Possum - 'corked hip/lower back'.... maybe I should change my line of work & take up physio

we'll have to wait and see, probably out for a few.
did you play swervyn?

zedman i may be wrong but i cannot recall seeing anyone from kenilworth come up for a drink post match. very poor form considering we go into every club after away games and would expect the same response from other clubs.thought tony fiore umpired very well in the twos. played against him years ago i reckon

possum you are correct we have dropped off a bit since round 1 win over plympton, but like everyone at this time of the year we havent the same side on the park. sat for instance 10 of the 21 that played round 1 watched from the sidelines. not making excuses but it wears a bit thin when previous three weeks in a row you have no interchange after half time. anyway the two points ( percentage not going to be a factor for us,we cant make up the required amount )kept us alive for another week, but we are walking a tightrope with no safety net under us, 1 more loss and you could say we are gone

Here's hoping you get a few of those boys back in and remain in the mix for that 5th spot. With such a tight Div you never know when there's gonna be an upset.

If Swervyn played he would have been deliberately sabotaging Mal to make sure he didnt get too close to his club goal kicking record. I know he had a big smile on his face in the last quarter when Mal handed off a few goals

get over it, its footy not a social outing, blokes are busy and sometimes hanging around for a beer at the other club isnt high on the agenda

haha... good to see the big boy give out a few handballs, not the way forwards should play however - you don't win goal kicking awards with handballs...

Rolls Royce!?!? More like a banged up old Nissan Pintara - need to hit the panel beaters to iron out a few dents before 2010. Rumour has it 'wosfc' the big Ford F250 is coming out in 2010 for a run... should bolster up those ruck stocks!

zedman wrote:thanks FC..they did come to play and were very unlucky not to win..i thought we controlled 60% of the game but the patch before half time when valleys scored 4 goals in the last 4 minutes of the quarter sealed the win..very brave effort by the boys including 1 x 16 & 1 x 15 y/old and 2 lads who played a full b grade game first..duggan was held superbly to only 6 touches and after half time the #3 was smothered..a good crowd in attendance saw a pretty good game..certainly wasnt "hope valley easily" :)

kudos to LM and the smithfield boys on a great win

Cheers zed, it was a spirit lifting win, we had many opportunities against Elizabeth the previous week and weren't able to capitalize.

We had no passengers on Saturday, Chris James was superb again around the field, Steve Taylor played his usual game, Steve Fairhurst's running and tackling was inspirational, John Crew and Matty Daly were brilliant in defence, I could go on all the way down, we played with pride and passion.

Christopher Barrie from Pulteney was brilliant, he singlehandedly kept them in the game, he dominated for 3 quarters til young Daly went on him, mind you, the supply dried up a fair bit in the last quarter, there was never more than 2 goals in it til the last 5 minutes.

We could be in for a reality check this week though, Blackfriars at St. Doms, we've never won there.

Would've been 5 in a row if we didn't lose to Elizabeth, could've made a push for the finals, we'd probably need to win all 4 now and I couldn't see us knocking off Plympton in round 18 unless they were more than a game and a half clear on top at that stage. I would give us a 30% chance vs BOS this week, 50/50 vs WOS at home and about the same vs Hope Valley away.
I did back us to win on Saturday, I thought Pulteney might have some complacency after flogging us stupid last outing and we have been playing some good footy in patches.
