Bigger than one G. Daff Bradman?

Dw mate this guy is a class a clown!
i know you have issues with him and he wasnt that good from what i saw last year seriously he is a gun compared to this bloke!

Umpires up there are brilliant compared to here
although they have been ok apart from "trevor"
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

Sprint you guys a chance to get anyone back this week and thanks for hanging around after the match.

not at this stage.
hopefully we get a chance to have a crack at getting the cup back before the year is out. having to present it twice this year has been tough.
the final score was still showing on that flash electronic scoreboard when we left almost an hour after the game. i'm sure the attendant just forgot to switch it off :(

Hey Sprinter, have you guys got bar facilities yet?

that's a negative LM. parklands + ACC = told we wouldn't get a licence when we joined in '06.

Interesting situation that one. Is it possible for the ball to hit the inside of the post and not be called a point? In this situation I actually believe the field umpire did the right thing. Nobody at the goal square argued that the ball didn't hit the post...

the boys i spoke to said the ball bounced back after landing just behind the post, i was to far away to know but my point is this was overruled by someone in a far worse position to actually judge it..but just for arguments sake..lets say it grazed the back of the post like you say..surely the guy standing 2 metres away could see/hear if it did that.. and he called it a goal..how did the umpire see the ball hit the back of the post..from 30m away..or did he just go along with what he was being told by valley boys ? why did he even get involved? :)

The HV goal umpire wasn't Alby was it ???
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

yes it was alby and he made the correct call, then was over ruled by weigand from 30 metres away. most umpires overturn if questioned by a central ump., just to keep them happy. fwiw thought the other ump was no better than weigand, most frustrating day i've ever had at trying to interperet hand signals and whos free it was. very glad when final siren sounded i must admit

Well from where I was standing the ball clearly hit the goal post (before touching the ground) though right at the back. The argument the lads around the area had was that the ball had gone over the line and had swung back to hit the back of the post. I heard no mention at the time of the ball hitting the ground and bouncing back into the post. I could see the goal umpire was visibly flustered (which can happen to us all) and there was an amount of confusion amongst all the players in the vicinity at the time. Luckily the field umpire took hold of the situation and made the decision he knew was correct. You will find in any level of football a field umpire has the right to override the goal umpire.

Umpiring is a tough and thankless job. From week to week they can be good, average or bad (and occasionally worse) but without them our beloved game wouldn't exist. ;)
If i'm not playing football then i'm probably watching it, otherwise i'm at least thinking about it!

messiah: all well and good but as i said..how did he know the "correct" decision when he was 30 metres away and not behind the goals???..there was no confusion around the goals at all..kfc boys said it was a goal and valley boys said it was a point, goal umpire called it a goal..so how did the umpire come to his decision and why did he get involved at all??

Bloody hell.
Does he still take his dog everywhere (I'm guessing if he does, it's another one, given the age - lol)?
He used to go to the footy club and train/play/drink, leaving his big freaking dog in the cab of his car - barking at all us kids.
We didn't taunt it much ;)
I shan't comment on his umpiring.

I see you had the Wiegand/Maddern combination...you poor blokes, the worse combo going around in the amateur league....both these blokes have had complaints lodged against them all year but seems it falls on deaf ears ~x(

The A grade games would be better off just having the B grade or club umpires doing two games than having Trevor umpire.
He is a waste of time and money and every game he has umpired has turned into an absolute debacle.

Get on Rosies this week.
Plympton due to injury and a music festival will have at least half their
side out this week. Wouldn't have thought the coach will be too happy about the latter.
