we thought they might break into our cars so everyone took everything into the changerooms :P

99 hmm..i played in a losing gf v pulteney that year in div 6

sorry felch my bad..its kremmer..now i remember..just knew his hair stood out..great player..killed us everytime we played

scotch would be around 86-88..lockleys around mid to early 90s..times changed tho..i remember giving you guys a hiding on riverside oval one year..20 goals + for lockleys..maybe just before you merged..i kicked a goal from a ruck tap in middle of the oval going south..big roost..it bounced 15m out and did all sorts of googlies and then rolled thru :)

Would have been 1995, 2 years before the merge. Brendan Kennedy was our coach. Lockleys and Fitzroy were really good that year. Clay Chaplin from Scotch kicked 17 goals against us in the very last round. I remember because our full back took a small lemon out in his sock before the game and handed it to him - not sure why, but it was funny at the time.

Kremmer was a gun, massive kick on him.

just bumped into each other at the watering hole friday night
few words were spoken and lipson sent thornton packing
i think lipson flexed or something, looked like thornton had seen a ghost or something, he was petrified!!!
nothing physical happenened though, otherwise thornton could have been in even more trouble

2 extremly imposing figures, i was under the impression that thornton was a bit of a tough guy, i guess i would be scared of lipson to though,
so i take it lipson wasnt to keen on the proposal

Yes, I was there- 1st year at the club, I was only a pup.
remember the game at Prospect Oval, but not much more than that- in fact, I couldn't even recall our opponent that day (until you mentioned it).
I was playing C/D grade at the club that year.

1995 lost to fitzroy
1999 lost to pultney
2005 lost to elizabeth

i just wanted another flag and i would retire..oh well..got another 10 years out of me that loss :)

Any Portland 2000 premiership players or any other ex portland players are welcome to meet at the Alberton Hotel at 11.00am Saturday for a day of reminiscing of the good old days. If anyone knows anyone from that side and has there number either contact them and let them know or pm me their phone number and I will get in contact with them. Felch I'm sure you have contacts and its a pity you are running cos I'm sure you would have lots of bunyip stories to share with us all.
