Come on GG boys, you are better than this, give the SHOC's boys some genuine credit and not blame injuries etc , it is just sour grapes. They will have a great chance next week, as you would have had you made it, so enough of the excuses and complaints. Accept defeat gracefully.

Anyway on diffrent note i would like to wish all the GG lads good luck if they do go on and play next year. We had a couple of really good battles during the year and you played some exceptional footy for c6. The real shame is now i know who you are Tex we can't have a beer as this will be my last season too. For what it is worth the open selection rule is a bit harsh i have lost 2 GF's because of it as well. Scotch Colledge did it to us two years in a row. But that is waht you earn if all your sides are good enough to make finals. SHOC's have done really well i played their C grade years ago and they could hardly get enough players to fill that grade but to have 5 sides and all are playing finals, well that speaks for itself!

jolly kicked 3 goals himself in the first term, i think gg only kicked 3 as a team after that??

gg prob got out run after that... we still had our chances to win the game. just didnt capitolize

not blaming the umpires.. but some of their decisions....i dont know how they got their licence.

well done to SHOC tho and all the best for the GF.

I thought the umpiring was terrible! I personally got a kicking in danger given against me when I kicked the ball off the ground, there was not one player near by, the player who got the free I kicked the ball off the ground to him about a meter away. Losing Jolly hurt us for sure. Marshy did his hammy in the 2nd but kept on playing but could not really move either.

haha that was classic....

that decision and the one where gatty got hit high as soon as he got the ball and the ump paid holding the ball then a 25m penalty.
amazing stuff!

like i said the jolly injury def hurt gg but shoc just out ran them.

one young guy for ya wearing the famous 37 was dominate all day... he carved up

Simple fact is yep, we were beaten by the better side on the day. We did have injuries that would have cost us next week if we had got through. Credit to SHOC boys for sure, great effort to get into the GF on their first season as an E grade. Unless the three guys that came down to help out play, I cant see them getting within 7 goals of FP next week. We would have been about the same given our injuries to players, this is not the reason we lost. I never said that injuries cost us the game, I did think that the guys that came down definately help SHOC win the game but who knows they may have done the same without them. Best of luck to both sides next week.

I didn't think the umps were too bad - they paid a few down the field free kicks but they were at least consistent with it which is all you can ask of really. Didn't see the high contact but the guy was delaying it a bit with the holding the ball so the 25m was there. And yeah that number 3 going down helped us a bit. I think it was 4.5 to 2.1 at 1/4 time? The majority of those scoring shots came from him getting every clearance.

Yeah a beer would have been good! Hopefully for you, you get a flag this week and finish on a high note! Agree great effort to SHOC, they still have a chance to get all thier sides into a GF which like you guys is a fantastic effort. I dont actually have a problem if a side is playing and someone misses out in a game so they are dropped to a lower grade, it is when sides are not playing but have already qualified for a GF or have the week off at the start of finals that I have a problem with, this is why I think that the side should at least have to name a side. At the end of the day we had our chances to beat you guys a week ago and didnt take it either so it is down to us

I bet you would always see sides that win think the umpiring was ok and sides that lose hate them, i thought that the down field ones were there and we were second to the ball that is why they even happened. Jolly was dominating till he went down, was still in our best playing just over a quarter. shows how poor we ended up playing really.

Don't take the gloss off SHOC's win. You lost to SHOC's 'E' grade!

I am pretty sure I made it clear that if we had of won (IF being the operative word) we would have been smashed in the grand final. I made no mention of how the game was played out and didn't take anything away from Sacred Heart. We were still in it with 5 minutes to go and they got over the line, they fought very hard in the second half to win the game. Its not the first time we have been bitten by the rule of having As/Bs/Cs/Ds coming down to play for the opposition, I just hope that if our club is ever in that position we will bring down players and give them quality "game time".

We were in that position but actually didnt, last year in our C grade we played our GF in the prelim final week because of only having a final 4, the B grade were already in the GF and we could have played B grade players in that game to get us over the line, we chose not to and went into the game with the side that had been there all year, luckily for me including myself with a torn hammy!

Firstly congrats to SHOC! Played better than us and deserved the result......geez they can run!!

My first year of 'D' grade and couldn't have asked for a better bunch of blokes to play footy with. We had our oppurtunites but think the season was just a couple of weeks too long for our group of players. Also a cheers must go out to our coach Sticko.....coached the past 3 years to lose in prelims in all years - think Saturday was the nail in the coffin for him.

My GF tip....FP by 31 points!

Bring on 2012!

Agree with that mate, great bunch of guys to play with! apart from the end result had probably my most enjoyable season of footy this year!

I think we need to start our season at around round 5 or 6 next year, not be the best or second best team all year and come home when it matters!

Maybe - although I think from the looks they've tried to get as many clubs with multiple teams at the same location. So the triple header for FP, Salisbury & SHOC as well as double headers with Kenilworth/Unley/SMOSH. Seems to have worked out pretty well - not everyone is going to be happy with every draw but at least this seems to have some thought behind it.

Yeah for you blokes.
Why not have the triple header at Hope Valley? Only 15 mins max. for Flinders Park to go watch their other 3 sides at Kilburn after their game. Not to mention the 2 other teams in the Div 7 GF's are North of the city also.

Well he was only commenting on the C's and D's being at the same ground. So I was just saying why I thought it was pretty well done in terms of allowing most teams to be at the same ground. Location is irrelevant as well when you live in Adelaide ;)

I dont understand, what do u want 4 teams at the same venue? Unfortunately the amount of sunlight we get on a Septembers day (unless u wanna start at 815am) means that 1 of your sides will be playing in competition to another. Kudos to FP for having 4 sides in the GF by the way.
