i have seen him play. and if you see what i wrote. I said he was a good player. not taking that away from him at all. As for Forby he did win previous medals in much higher grades. also he is bald and has an annoying voice, so he attracts umpiers all the time.???
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Well done to the winner. All winners are deserving.
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Seems there is a few Gepps Cross boys having a long holiday after this weeks tribunal. I assume a melee?
Seems quite high games so it must have been pretty serious. One bloke got 11 games? another 6? Wow!

PAOC by 8 goals over Golden Grove this arvo.
We jumped them in the first qtr toagave a 5 goal qtr time lead. Second qtr they came back at us pretty well, but a 25m on the siren gave us the buffer goingnint the break.

I reckon the grove coach would be pretty dirty on his players for undiscipline which cost 3-4 goals from either frees or 25s. They were all there, and it can really kill you in a final.

The last half, the heat really got to both sides and ithe pace slowed down.
Well done to the grove boys who ran the game out well.

We are pumped to get through to next week and bring on broadies.

I dont disagree that some of the frees wee there but not all the 25s, if there was a direction that they were going to be that hot on any lip to the umpires maybe they could have let us know before the game. In the end it didnt make a difference, the first quarter hurt us and we were chasing all day. I will say that when SAAFL umpires do the finals in the C grade comps I think that they need to understand that these guys have had club umpires all year, maybe cut them a little bit of slack because I thought that the 25s today were a bit excessive at times. Again this did not cost us the game, we were not ready to go at the start of the game and a 6 goal break on a good day is too hard to peg back.

I am tipping Broadies to win next week but will be closer than they think, PAOC have always played good when it counts so will be a good hit out.

Another finals victim of club umpire syndrome
The umpires need to understand?
You'd think your coach would have worked it out after the first one and told the players to STFU
Our guys were threatened with barbed wiring if they even looked funny at the umpires.

Were you at the game Jimmy? I don't know you but going by what's written on here u don't venture out north too much, just wondering if u made it out alive? You wouldn't have any trouble at a classy club like Salisbury. The only trouble I saw was a few uni older gents getting a bit upset at the $8 entry fee. Must've left their wallet back home.

When did I say we were victim of SAAFL umpiring costing us a game??

My point is the umpires in C grade finals could cut the players a little bit of slack. All season with club umpires things are generally different. You only ever pop up here during PAOC finals so I'm not sure how often you actually watch your C or D grade? Today we lost because PAOC were better, umpiring had nothing to do with it, I was pointing out that if there was a big push from the SAAFL on chat then do be it but they were definitely harder on it today more than ever. Have you actually Played football? It is tough for guys who have that "white line fever" to shut thier mouths when they should. This didn't cost us today it just didn't make it any easier.

Yep - had a chat with Gino and Pag and was at Salisbury West yesterday
I was saying we told the players to keep their traps shut under threat of barb wiring, not you.

Tex - you want the umpires to adjust to you guys mouthing off because you get away with it all season - you are kidding aren't you?
And I played about 300 games - I learnt pretty early that umpires dont like mouthing off, and if they give a 25m for back chat once, they will probably do it again.

More annoyed that they had to pay at Port Districts, Thebarton then Salisbury to watch the games. There is probably room so that a weekend pass could be purchased - or that a passout from one ground could be used at another on the same day; this would just cost the League some printing costs with the passouts being given to the gate attendants who, I believe, originate from the Laegue.

The no chatback ruling was reinforced this year with zero tolerance being shown to any remonstrance - certainly I believe club delegates were told this prior to the season.
In C divisions finals games prior to this year we've always known to just not say a word to the umpires regardless of how ridiculous the decision is.
That said, sometimes the umpires do overreact to often innocent questions.

So you would understand that sometimes it is just hard to keep your mouth shut. No I understand they don't need to adjust to us questioning decisions I just thought that they could have been a little less hot on it when there wasn't much in it. There was some where we made contact late after a mark that were there. The
One at half time no one went over the mark, Waltham made comment after the break it wasn't there. Maybe they were hotter on us because of the few who were chatting them, again not the reason we lost. Have a heap of respect for PAOC have always played a fair game with a good rivalry with us in the C grade. I wish we had the upper hand here but we don't. I know Broadies had a similar game with umpires being hot so they will learn from that and be a good game next week. Good luck to both.

Are you serious? were they charging to get into Pt Districts on Saturday? If they were than they probably deserved to cough up the money as there is plenty of access points and ease of entry other than the main carpark.

I believe the gentlemen in question were more upset that security tried to hold onto the carton of beer they had in the boot.

Absorbing game in the D8

Broadview 9.12 (66)
PAOC 7.11 (53)
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Yes it was a great game of footy art from e end result! We didn't make use of the wind in the first term and Brodie's used it well in the second. Third qtr was some of the bestbfootybwe played all year which put in the lead at the last break. Huge last qtr by both sides with Broadies getting their noses in front when it counted. It was the best 25 we have had all year, so full credit to Broadies.

Well done to our ds who got over e line against Salisbury. Disgraceful behavior by Salisbury player in the last qtr while being sent off. Think he got reported for it, not sure though. And wanted to go on with it 5 min after the incident had died down.

No probs Pag. Disappointing end to what was a good game. Glad you guys will deal with him, that behavior is not the way your club is heading, so good to hear.
