that would mean you kick the total score. coming up against a very fired up side ready to make their mark in the next couple of weeks. i think the phantoms excitement comes from the it's the last game of the year, ridicule over

dont get me wrong, am happy the season is over, been a long year for me personally, havent done much etc but i would gladly pull on the farmers jumper any day and play alongside any bloke at that club coz they play for the right reasons and work hard for each other.

Sure we havent won many games but i dont care, i dont play the game to sit pretty ontop of ladders or to bath in the glory of endless victories, i play for the camaraderie, mateship, fitness, experience. Ive had plenty of success over my sporting career and yes it is great but it isnt the be all and end all! When you finish your career and look back its not the flags you won or the games you won, its the mates you made.

well 2009 is over for hope valley A gde. we were beaten by a better side on the day. two things hurt us 9-23 aint gonna win many games against quality opposition. the second and i am not an umpire basher but give me div 5 umpires anyday, because we are used to them. we had 2 umps from div 2 and they were very technical for both sides but certainlly rattled our guys. good luck to the remaining 5 sides, it will be a fantastic final series. fwiw i think pulteney and westminster will play off with westminster winning back to back flags.

Commiserations Hope Valley. At least there is the very real possibility of back-to-back flags in the Reserves!

Dark horse of 2010, if Elizabeth can recruit a couple of key position guns, whilst retaining their current list, I think they will be very competitive.

similar believable/not believable/contentious/antagonistic/entertaining material is written up here by posters and they are not allowed to be identified so why try and identify the writer?
if there is a source or sources behind the scenes informing clubs / others who the writer is without the writers knowledge then so be it, that's their choice.
an element of the intrigue of the budget i think is the anonymity of the writers in most instances. i don't read the whole thing every week but as i understand most writers don't put their name to it.
nonetheless, dissatisfaction with what is written will happen from time to time so every year can bring the chance for new writers to be nominated and have a crack. i've written 4 times for the budget in two years and it was nowhere near as easy as i thought it would be.

sounds like someone is backing up one of their own to me.

Well done to the WOS boys yesterday, played in good spirits and great hospitality, being the last game of the year in what has been a long hard season, I know IF boys appreciated the carton after the game. Good luck in the finals.

What else do you want him to do? He only has to be selected 4 times - doesn't even have to play them

Only need 4 games to qualify for finals, gossip early on in the piece was that he was only ever going to qualify and would definitely be available for finals.
