Thanks to pag and the boys from Salisbury for making the treck to Mortlock Park today.

Was bloody freezing and felt more like round 15 in July.

3 close games played in good spirits, all the best for season 2019

4-5 goal breeze made it a difficult game to judge..salisbury lads were pretty good, first time i have seen you guys..saw enough to know you will be around the money..clg also looked very tidy..got some speed and some good ones to come into the team for round 1..both sides would be happy with that trial..

For large parts of last season, the Burras looked the side most equipped to challenge CBC for the flag, unfortunately a few hiccups late in the season saw them slide, and a crucial Rd 18 loss cost them the double chance.

Fast forward to this season, and added more top end talent to bolster an already impressive list, as well as the addition of a league ruckman and boy oh boy it looks to have all the key ingredients to success.

Haven't appeared to lose anyone of note, except Savage but he's easily replaced with the inclusions and return of former premiership stars.

Depth through the B grade was good, one of the best sides over the minor round complimented with experience and talent and several who could make the step up, and the club as a whole play their ground incredibly well.

New clubrooms, new recruits, big things coming for the Kenilworth.. if it all goes to plan, they'll be LaughingKookaburras come September.

Prediction: 1st

Have been up for a few years now, constantly around the mark - through all grades - that ability to maintain wins over the minor round but fail at the finals hurdles must at some point begin having an impact on the playing group. Only have themselves to blame for last year - comfortably the most consistent club in the division across all grades, even ahead of CBC - inaccuracy when it mattered ended their season prematurely, kicked 4.20 in the qualifying final and backed up with 10.18 in the Semi Final.. losing both games by a combined 8 points.

High scoring, aggressive side, led by one of the best and most versatile rucks in getting around these grades and a rebounding back 6 the Demons are a well drilled unit and will continue to challenge sides through out the season and be around the mark.

A difficult opening three games will test the Dee's - only reason I have them finishing so low, I expect them to wind up as the season goes on.

Williams is a blow to their midfield stocks, replaced with Traianos, and Gatis hurts the B grade in up forward, but expect Rafanelli to step up and relish in the chance to be the big dog target. A number of juniors to be blooded through the seniors will continue to keep Lockleys around the mark, and perhaps a quieter lead up to this season will allow them to go through early with a little less attention as everyones eyes look to Hope Valley, Kenilworth, Smithfield and Salisbury with interest.

Get around the Stormy Special.

Prediction: 4th

Let's not stuff around here, we aren't here to **** spiders - we are here to win it.. in the C grade 8)

Lost Langford up forward 107 goals, and the retirements of Cleveland, Latchford, Frick, Rowlands and Darley leaves a fair hole as well as Luckett and Mattner off to YPFL. Have recruited reasonably well to replace, but depth will continue to be an issue - except for the super C grade.. in fact i dont even know half the "recruits".

The announcement of Michael Tripodi as C grade coach has dragged half of the Italian community out for a kick, hopefully a few will be happy to play in the B grade who are coming from a fair way back this year compared to most.

However, the Blues did have a steady season last year and good base to work with, and fun fact last season was only the third time in 17 years of coaching i'd missed finals - that includes cricket (pleased to say returned to cricket finals again this year 8) ), also another fun fact.. won a premiership in 1999 and 2003, coached a premiership in 2007, 2011 and lost a Grand Final in 2015.. it's 2019 this year.. omen?

Some great news coming out of Kenilworth with the grand opening of the new social clubrooms scheduled for our home fixture vs Smithfield Rd 3. Having spent some time there over the last week and seeing it’s near completion it is a very impressive set up which no doubt will be very well received by any people visiting Simonds Park this year.

Parts of the new facilities will also be open this weeks round 1 clash vs Trinity O.S also.

We didn’t forfeit - Not sure on the exact details or reasons.
