Adel Luth managed to beat teams below it regularly to avoid really being worried about relegation.
Going up - find it harder to compete with top teams, although should have beaten the premiers away!

Maybe an apt statement would be "we aim to make the finals but are happy if we don't get relegated".

Its still September FFS...we have been in D3 not too long ago, and battled our arses off for 5 years. Kept finishing in no-mans land every year - 1-2 games from the top 5, and 1-2 games away from relegation. That saps the energy from a club, trust me.
Im not going to get on here and say 'We are going to make finals in D3 in 2009' because it wont just happen like that. Thats our goal, but we have plenty of work to do - stitch up all our current players for next year, and sign some new blood. I think we are in a similiar situation to Salisbury last year - a good, young core group, and reasonable depth.
Of course everyone goes out to win every game...i get miffed at people who state the obvious...

Not wanting to get relegated is stating the obvious as well.
I'm just pointing out that not being relegated and making finals are part of the same goal; to win as many games as possible. It's not as if you would prepare your team differently and in a way so that it only finishes 8th.
