Let's hope it's not as hot as the Round 1 from 2005. We were playing away against St Paul's OS and it was near 40°C. The policy was to stop for a drinks break midway through every quarter, but it made things worse because it meant we were out in the heat for longer. It ended up being a marathon game, with us in front by a point when the siren went and St Paul's OS with a free kick in front of goal, only for the decision to be reversed after one of their players snotted one of ours in the nose. Classic encounter.

We still talk and laugh about this game. Smits is still shattered he got robbed a goal tally to his career and a chance to be the hero, funny thing is the bloke who gave that free away never played for the club again and has never been seen since :lol:

we'll definately know where each other are after round one if this stays the same. CU v BOS will be a huge game to see if CU have improved and if BOS have retained/gained anything. Ingle farm will also have a big test first up V trinity. we will definaltely know how good IF will be after playing a team that has made finals for at least the last 3 years

Pfft this will be a walk in the park for Ingle Farm. I can see them winning by around 13 goals with the team they have assembled.

=))

So a team that loses Tremain and Moore, then replaces them with Para Hills B-Graders, is suddenly going to have a 200-point turnaround on a team that thrashed them in both games last year 8-}

This will be an interesting first up game for us. There has been a lot of talk about IF's improvement and the last time we played there was no love lost after a player/spectator altercation on the boundary line. From all reports the player from IF that was involved has moved on. Nonetheless it will certainly show us how far IF have come and whether we have what it takes to improve on last season's 4th place finish.

Chill out man, there is nothing wrong with people thinking there club has improved by the way of recruiting players and that.

I know you are a man of much wisdom and not just a football coach but also a life coach, so i think you should relax and let people have a bit of hope this time of the year with there club because as u say by round 4 some seasons will be finished, then what will they have to play for?

I'm with you hotpies, Sorry Deeman, but I believe a club can still show a lot of improvement even at this time of year. A new coach, with a new direction and some new faces in terms of playing group and off-field can begin changing the culture of a club for the better. On paper it appears that Ingle Farm have shown improvement in these area. As a club they haven't had a lot to be positive about in recent times, so for those involved to be coming on here and feeling positive about the changes can only be a good thing for the club. From an opposition team's point of view, the Ingle Farm of recent past was in need of some improvement in these areas and good on them for trying to improve their club for the better. Whether that translates in to a more successful season onfield, you are right, we will have to wait and see.

Love it. Why doesn't every club just play each other to see who will lose the GF to Farms by 13 goals. :lol:

wank,wank, the only people on here who are saying IF are going to win the flag by plenty are people not even involved at IF,all i've heard is how much the club is trying to improve on and off the field and gaining players to improve their squad cant be a bad thing as recent performances suggest they had to recruit. These so called PH B graders may be better than IFs A grade players of recent seasons, now only time will tell, what's wrong with being positive?

I hear a couple have left Central United for Gumeracha for a bit of cash. Also told a few from Mawson Lakes have signed with Brahma Lodge.

Also heard yesterday that McLeod will be getting $5K at Meningie, so the 'truth' might be of the same ilk.

your 2-3 seasons late with that rumour. 5 or 6 from united went there 2008, 3-4 came back 2 seasons ago.. we actually got a couple extras with them.. dont think any have gone there this year... but if they do... ADIOS !! no biggy... they will be back...

looks like brahma will need to find more ovals, more recruits than the armed forces, seems like they will have a team in every grade this season...

Heard this too but it was bar talk I reckon...Central United I would predict still look the goods for season 2012. Also, Is Liam Davis from Houghton playing at the Redlegs this year? Heard there was a whisper he might be training with them throughout 2012?

So the rumors about Geoff Riddle being replaced were not true then I guess.
