the bbq is worth the drive alone, the footy will be a bonus.

Surely its time that the SAAFL handed out community awards each year in categories such as best bbq, best canteen, best changerooms, best oval, best oval marking, etc etc...

might make some clubs really strive for that extra bit of effort and make the experience of going to other grounds far more enjoyable...

any thoughts on that?

I know Kenilworths bbq is great, plympton is trying to get there, but needs the shaslicks!

The SAAFL recognise clubs and their volunteers? That'd be the day. :?

What a great positive idea. I put my hand up to be bbq taster :D
There is alot of merit in this. I know the clubs do thank their volunteers at presentation nights etc. but to be recognised by the amateur league i think will put alot smiles on a lot of faces.
Thats what im talkin aboooouuuut!!!!!!

Well Saturday is near. My thoughts......

2 weeks ago Plympton were winners by 5-6 goals at the very same venue. All reports I heard is that WOS were terrible, however to lose by only 5-6 goals gives them optimism I reckon. If they were smashed by 10-12 goals i'd give them no chance. Imo if WOS can be in front or even at 3/4 time they will run over Plympton after the 2nd half disaster last week from what I have heard. Did Plympton run out of tickets in the 2nd half or did Pultney step up?
I have a little theory on Plympton.... I reckon they are probably over the entire ground the most consistant team in div 5 this year, however when they do bleed they bleed bad. Even though we were beaten by 8-9 goals both times we had stages in both games where we controlled play for quite a substantual period of time. 1st time we kicked 7 goals in 10 minutes and the 2nd time we kicked 2.13 in 2 quaters. Both of those little periods we were first to the ball and probably slowed the game down a little bit and really pressured the ball carryer. Yes we were beaten but if this same laps happens against WOS it's good night dick.
However if WOS do not cause this to happen Plympton at their best imo are too good.

My tip is that this will happen on the weekend as some tired bodies will be out there on both sides, WOS pace to get them over the line in the last quater by 10 points.

I'll be there Saturday helping out, so if anyone wants a beer P.M me and i'm sure i'll make time to talk some rubbish with you, that is what i do best ;) . take care all.

Also GO THE KOOKAS in the U18's prelim on Sunday at Thebby. LM i'm sure i'll see you there.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

I think the boys will get into the big one, but the past 2 times we have played you, you have definately shown you are the measuring stick and will take some beating if we get another crack at you in a weeks time.
