Junior grades arent like they use to be at Sanfl level
blokes that can actually play footy get the chop cos someone can run 2km 20 seconds quicker or can jump higher etc.

Big problem with the game these days at higher levels as i believe it turning into athletics to a degree instead of using footy nouse!
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

Haven had one big pick up of port juniors seven years ago when we got summerton mooney davis griffin. since then we have only picked up a few in burridge five years ago. and hood and mcintee last year but they come from other clubs first! milera this year but got him from portland! wouldnt that be probably be less than most clubs have had???

That would actually be a interesting trial. It will give gums an idea off how they might go this year. I know they have picked up a couple of players. Will be interesting.

Not that you can ever tell too much from trial games, but how do ya thinkyour lads will go against Haven? Should give your lads a fair indication of where they're at. Are Taylor or Hahn still havin a kick?

Rosewaters Mark Quinn has approached David Brown to be his personnal trainer.
Browny has his programme ready but Quinny's gone missing.
I hear he's sounding out Stuart Dew as he wants to lose 20kg. [-o<

Just going back a few posts ago, 2005 div 4 the 2 sides relegated were Mitcham and Para Hills, both aparently ordinary sides. The 2006 grand final in div 5 was Para Hills defeating Mitcham.2007 Div 4 had Para Hills finishing top and Mitcham finishing 3rd....... Anyone who jusdges a division on the previous years results is both arrogant and has no idea how footy rotates.I bet those div 2,3 and 4 clubs around 2000 were regreting saying div 5 must be a shit comp if Woody South are going well.............
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

As Bartman said, Luke Hann has moved on to Hope Valley to play with his brother Jim this season. Big loss for us. Stevie Taylor definately still at Smithfield this season and looking as fit as ever. That being said, numbers have been pretty poor on the track so far so not expecting too much in the trial against Haven. Will have a decent top few players but not sure how much depth we will have for that game. I know for myself, i wont be going out too hard and more focusing on just trying to get used to competitve footy again. As long as we can get some positives from the game such as some youngsters showing some promise and our good players getting some good match fitness and form, ill be happy.
