Alfie? I know Robbie did..

Speaking of coaches.. has the Super Coach placed a self imposed media ban on himself this week?

Whispers about Payne at EP might struggle to keep his job even though they are in the GF. Apparently a few players, esp in the B's, do not like him at all, they think he's selfish when he plays in the bs. They have advertised, but that doesnt say much when a lot of clubs advertise every year regardless.

Do you really think that the club is going to be concerned what a few B graders think of a coach that has pushed a club up into div. 2. He has been involved with EP for a number of years, it shouldn't come as any surprise that he doesn't mind kicking a goal or two.

I've had plenty of run-ins with him over the years, it takes nothing away from the fact that he knows his footy and has become a successful coach. I was surprised when he first got the job out there, I always admired his skill as a player and now he has backed it up with a div.3 Grand Final and minor premiership. Well done Payney and good luck Eastern Park on Saturday.

Not to mention that FC posted this on the Div 5 forum on monday...

Ahh well there ya go! thanks for playing ladys and gentlemen. Well Mitch is welcome back to the hawks for a few brews if it is him leaving. U can keep Shane Scudds. Weve got the good one!

but for how long sass? blood is thicker than water

Wouldnt get too excited about a return to Modbury for mitch boys, not too many boys he knows out there anymore and he has made some good friendships at GG. Not to mention the huge future ahead not only with players but funding for a mega club house complex and facilities to come in 2009

Ovingham F C we believe are about to name thier new coach and support staff for 2009. Insiders tell us that Jeff has been encouraged by Rupert to accept the position, with assistant coach 'Shrek', Team manager Captain Cordial and orange slicer Bubbla. Its not quite a done deal yet as the Captain refused to have 14 of his teeth removed and a cobweb tatoo placed on each elbow . Shrekie was O. K. with all this, and Bubb, well, he had the lot anyway. Things look like there on track for ovies in 2009.

This is merely a question to those that might know. Have a look through the who's who of div 1 coaches and you might find yourself asking WTF is Ricky Pearce?

You'd know more than me on this particular issue but if Aflie is appointed to North Haven does he have the drawing power to pull a couple from Districts with him.

Know doubt he has the power but one wonders whether many of the Pt Dist A graders would lower themselves & venture to Div4.
I thought Alf was a Dist man through & through, i was wrong.
