Portlands under 17's side in 2004
undefeated all season
beat Gepps X by 40pts in the GF!
in the secnd semi we were up by 10 goals at quarter time against Gepps!

We watched it sat night while having a few beers and one of the lads went as far as saying we would have beaten Port Magpies under 17's, was a big call but I think we seriously would have given them a run!

For the record, Gepps side wasnt full of dudds either
had both the Clark brothers, believe they playing div 1 A grade, also had savage and other names that would still be out there or playing A's other places!!

but goody saints as one side winning A1 four years in a row is a spectacular effort

pretty sure goody saints won the 17s gf that year, a few of those boys have gone on to play divvy 1 or higher.

93-94

My junior side was undefeated u/8's throught to U/11's. One the u/12's flag and only lost 3 games that year. Beat all three of those teams on our way to flag. Unfortunatley we fell in a hole after that.....losing every GF from u/13's through to u/16's. The final one by a goal.

Still...making the GF in every year was a pretty good achievment i thought. Especially considering the length one of the clubs went to, to beat us. But thats another story

gepps were the best in 2005
but they did retain almost every player from 2004 while portland lost about 10 players!
the truth is portlands 2004 side was better then Gepps 2005 side!!
