jabber: plymptons song starts before they are in the change rooms..like about 30m out they start some sort of primeval growling noise..if they are playing at our place they then like to bang the walls and doors...someone should remind them they only beat the 9th or 10th team LOL..our wins are far and few so we can be found singing on the ground if we win..but we wouldnt do it in the rooms as well..each to their own and differing circumstances can prevail..as long as you are singing it you have won so who cares where you do it

Yeah, the old growl, had to giggle at how you've described it, spot on, but the crux of the song is inside the rooms, the verse!!

Don't like the banging of anything like walls or any of that crap, especially at a place like Panther Park where the walls are like wafer biscuit, could end up costing you some $$$ of you smash through them!

yeah you got that right..DONT BANG THE WALLS BOYS

i like the last bit of rosies song..how did we do it.."doggy style!"

is plympton similar to that?..you guys say something at the end but i can never work out what

Did we win.. We shitted in
How'd we do it.. Easy
Who's on top?.. She is!

i know this is slightly off the topic but i hate being involved in club songs when the arms are linked and everybody feels the need to sway and move while singing... why do people need to sway about? why can't the players stand still?? It really annoys me that i keep getting almost knocked over by all these swaying footballers. I played the game with you, i'm not swaying, why are you all swaying? Stand Still!!!!

It isn't a huge issue but can you stand upright please!

Going back a fair few years now at CBCOC we played and won a game to go on top. At the end of the song "who's on top?" and instead of "we are" one of the lads yelled out "She is" and pointed at the female trainner in the changerooms. We still sing/say it at he end of every song.

Why is it disrespectful to sing it on the ground ???

I reckon it's disrespectful to NOT sing it on the ground.

Anyway, I have added a poll to settle this debate. VOTE AWAY!!!

I had to go option 4 on the voting its been that long since we won a game let alone an away game to rub it in the oppositions face. But I do believe that you should sing the song both on the ground and in the changerooms.

The young lads have now taken it upon themselves out at GG to change one of our club song lines from 'riding the bumps with a grin' to 'riding the CHICKS with a grin'....... ;)

What The?

How is singing the song on the oval disrespectful to the other team? Most teams that loose usually head straight for the change rooms.

I with the houghton boys on this one, Im a supporter and there is nothing better then seeing the boys belt out the song after a win!

If it comes down to a questions of respect i think in the change rooms is more disrespectful, why do you sing it so loud and proud in the change rooms????? SO THE OTHER TEAM HEARS IT!!!!!

Pffft singing on the oval disrespectful to the other team  Should home teams also supply kleenex tissues for the loosing team to cry in after. Maybe the traditional hand shake and a beer after the game should be replaced with tea, coffee and a chat.

No one wants to be the loosing team but i cant see why any loosing team would feel disrespected by the winning team celebrating their win on the oval after the game. Disappointed yes that it isnt their team but disrespected?

None of you light hearted guys better meet BL after they win a game coz they play their song on the loud speaker and then sing it in front of the changerooms with all their supporters extremely loud and proud! And so they should i thought it was great team/club atmosphere and i was from the loosing team.

How is the decision made?

I'm not a fan of singing the song on the oval, always instruct my lads to do it in the changerooms after....quite a lot of clubs in div 7 do it on the oval.

This must be a new club rule Riddler, coz when i was there the boys liked nothing better then to belt it out on the oval and in the change rooms after a win ;) and i dont remember anyone worrying about whether the other team would feel disrespected or not. :D
with how well the boys r doing this year i would have thought they would be singing even louder and prouder!

Apparentely you can belt the suitcase out of your opponent, sit on the sideline and sledge them all day, fight, maul, hurt, bump, slam, ridicule, initimidate and beat them on the scoreboard but you can't sing a song in front of them.....

I don't think it's about disrespect it's more about taking a win in your stride and not overblowing it.

But would you see it as arrogance if a side beat you and walked off and not sang their song ?? Like they believe they should have beaten you by more, or you weren't a worthy opponent ?? Everyone takes the issue differently I guess...

Is it really that important? If you win, you're gonna sing it somewhere regardless. The opposition will hear it whether it's on the ground or in the rooms anyway.

That's my point..... if you get touchy about where an opponent sings their song then drink a glass of concrete.....

I'm thinking about it from a coaching point of view I don't care what the other side does if I was coaching there's really only the one celebration that counts. Then again I'm old school I can't understand some goal celebrations. You've put a ball through some sticks not cured cancer.

Having played most of my early football at Kilburns B grade i did not get many opportunites to sing the cheer cheer the black and the white very often so i would sing it 10 times if i could! At GGFC we seem to always sing on the oval only we did early this year in the C grade not sing after a win becuase we played poorly and should have really lost the game! Must admit afterwards did feel a bit arrogant in doing this!

Mate, if hearing your opponents singing their song as loud as they can doesn't give you the sh*ts enough for you to get some self motivation out of it, you shouldn't be playing.
It's got nothing to do with arrogance, it's the taste of winning and the fun it brings you and the team, for God's sake, enjoy it! Who cares what the opposition thinks?
