Here's what I reckon D7 should/could look like:

Angle Vale
Flinders University
Golden Grove C/D
Houghton Districts
Henley C/D
Mitchell Park
Modbury C/D
North Pines
Prince Alfred OC C/D
Wingfield*

*D7 Reserves have a bye during the week you play Wingfield

Flinders Park, SHOC & SMOSH relegated to D8

As opposed to all the local games you had this year?

Gotta travel a bit for a couple of games a year.

Only game we really had to travel for was Colonel Light Gardens and a 10.15am start to-boot.

75% of games were in the North East - HV, TTG, Salisbury, PNU. Not sure our club would want to go up to Div7 but I could be wrong.....

Post season after finishing 9th having being promoted from Div 8 to 7 for 2014 a 300+ game player and former Tideman medallist from SMWL who is still running around in the C & Ds the last few seasons commented on the gap in class (and fitness) between the A grade Clubs and "genuine" C and D grade sides...... the bigger scoreline margins were from these sides.......For what its worth IMO and certainly his....there is a difference....

Fair gap for SMOSH and SHOC.

Henley, Modbury and AU certainly held their own.

The TTG side that played in the 2012 D7 GF was at least a 30 goal better side than the one that played finals this year in D8 according to a couple of people that played or were involved in both.

There is a fair gap I think, especially at the top.

Ehhh dunno about that. I think the "gaps" get progressively closer and closer as you go up the ranks.

For the main part we were not the best nor the worst over the last 15 years. But very recently whilst competing in either C3 then to Div 8 we were more than competitive against other competing C and D grade sides. The move to Div 7 was a big leveller for the C grade when they found themselves uncompetitive against the better teams such as you mentioned Q.... but particularly the A grade sides such as Smithfield, North Pines and Houghton. Some huge margins.

Our D's are made up of mostly former A and B grade players for whom age and injuries see them having the preverbial kick and a catch with mates and a lager afterwards before finally hanging up the boots.

The C Grade is and eclectic mix of U18's, newcomers, and senior players some of whom are looking to displace those in the teams above whilst others......well.....just want a game of footy shall we say. The class and depth of our C's and D's sides seems to go in cycles regarding how well they perform. Like everyone else ....cop the bad and enjoy the good times....

Wingfield will not be in Div 7 next year, they got smashed everytime they played. If they are made to play in div 7 again they wont be able field a team due to lack of numbers.

Pulled the pin to have more time with the family. Hopefully we can convince him to play Ressies and go one better than R/U in the association medal.
