PS Pearcey you were lucky with the weather. On a decent day we would have carved you up! Yes your Bgrade had a big win with our B grade in development year but everyone knows its about the As and your mob look like they have self destructed.

Well I wasn't there so I dont know how the crowd behaved. I have been to away senior games and there really doesn't seem to be any great difference between their home crowd and ours.
But, how some spectators behave at a senior match is of no consequence to me.
As long as they behave at junior games!
You know, we're just sitting back noting what it's like at other clubs on 'junior Sunday' and waiting for the flood to Geppies to turn into a deluge, and believe me, if players could have have got permits to switch clubs after June 30, we'd have 2 teams each of 12's, 13's, 15's and 16's instead of three squads of 26-28 in each. Things must be pretty bad at other clubs when we get beaten by 10 goals and immediately get parents from the opposition asking if they could play for us next year, if not immediately!
Fitzroy and Walkerville can be proud of the way they are run. Should be role models for all the other clubs, including ours.

Can confirm the supporter yelling at the umpire that 'they would meet soon and have words'. Obviously with some *$# in there too. And after a player being sent off for a blatent late high shot, he continued as the umpire tried to explain to the match day official what the bloke had been reported for. No wonder it was confusing for the crowd. Haven't heard language at a game like that for some time. Interesting you comment on the junior flood and deluge to your club. Sounds like your oval! I know the weather is bad but the state of the ground is terrible.

Yep, the ground wasn't brilliant yesterday. Went to Para Hills for the 13's and that was worse. Saw the 14's at Ross Smith h/s and the oval there was excellent. Aparently Athelstone and Golden Grove were terrible.

Maybe the Amateur league should pay for security guards at some venues if there is a history of abuse. If Saturday was as bad as you say, then it's a disgrace, and it can trickle down to the younger grades as recent happenings in junior footy illustrate.

Why didnt Gepps match day official do something about their spectator? I thought that was their role. By doing nothing they are condoning it and obviously if their bar manager does the same thing on a weekly basis they must feel they have no right to have a go at any of their supporters.
Our umpires do not deserve this sort of abuse and it should not be tolerated. Maybe the League needs to step in and try and rectify this problem.

Yes he is and I reckon is in the top 2 or 3 in the league. In fact here is my 3-2-1 for the best and worst umpires for 2007:

The Best
3. David Bailes
2. Tom Leonello
1. Vic Petruzelli

THE WORST
3. Paul Montesi
2. Mark Braunack
1. Greg Beech

Adelaide Uni 2008

Postby Blacks130 » Tue Jul 10, 2007 11:37 pm

Only a supreme optimist would make the bold statement suggesting the Blacks will be in Div 1 in 08. What I can tell you all is that our data base for potential recruits to play at our club is adding numbers by the day and those in power have already made contact with some of those to ascertain their interest which at the minute is positive. The one advantage of all but having your season done and dusted is being able to get on with the next year and making sure this little hicup doesn't become a collpsed lung. Be aware, by the end of this, I'd suggest there will be few of you that would've wished we did scrape through. The one thing about having 280 registered players is challenging each player to identify 2 players not involved at the club and then all of a sudden we have 560 prospects to sift through and you should see some of the name already appearing.

Very xciting.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh We'll be back sooner than later after a little walk on the wild side

Jesus Blacks130!
First things first - when you poach players they dont come free so I hope you've got your money out - this squashes crap postings previously by Uni ppl on here that Uni doesn't pay and that Uni are a club that ppl want to be at to 'network' etc

Secondly how about you throw a few names of potential recruits in the ring for us?????????????

Further more dont you think its a bit of a dog act to be poaching players during the current season, these same players are currently playing for other clubs and are supposed to be concentrating on finals footy in 2007 and ofcourse fullfilling their current committments. It'd be fair to say that if the shoe was on the other foot you would be dirty - its all about footy etiquette.

You seem to be pushing further the case as to why a lot of people are not very nice when they talk of Uni.

Also I see you've mentioned Nick Holland as playing for the Blacks in 08 if not sooner - I suppose he would be doing this for the love of the game and ofcourse due to his strong ties to the Uni lifestyle and culture.....

Any names worth mentioning Blacks30 - beside Nick that is?

Pearcey word has it your club has been reported by the Amateur league at last for your abusive, threatening spectator when we played you last round. Hopefully that bloke will be suspended from going to any more games for a long time and your club will finally learn a lesson.
The days of players and umpires being continually abused and threatened by gutless supporters is gone and we dont want to hear that language or behaviour any more!
Maybe the league has had enough of your clubs behaviour!
