Depth will be an issue for the owls. there first five or six players are as good as any but it really falls away after that.

They'll be fine. Dont think they will play finals. Cant see them beating either of the div 1 'C' Grade sides... And as for Mr M, they'll cope without him. After-all he was just a 'genuine forward' who was going to be played in the backlines anyway.

I made some good friends at CU but I really do hope that when they are struggling to kick a winning score and Im kicking(if my foot is right) goals in Div 4R(which is I believe of better quality then Div 7) that they remember I was the forward there coach either didnt rate or thought a forward line that preduced 16 or 17 goals in 3 trial matches could do with-out. Good luck to CU though :?

Maybe you should have spoke to the coach, playing "a" grade football is all ways better then playing reserve football. Agree div 4r would be better then div 7r but not as good as div 7!

Yeh okay mate!!!! Your a joke if you think that. Having played a couple trials for Greenacres Reserves and a couple A grade games for CU I can tell you Greenacres B grade is alot fitter and most players posess more skill . They have plans and strategies whilst alls CU trained for was a switch which every club has... There will be atleast 8 players from Greenacres A Grade lastyear that are expected to be playing B grade this year through good recruiting form the club. So if you still think the comp is harder in Div 7 you are on some good hallucinogenics :)

I would rather 'train hard' and earn a spot at Greenacres then not even have to train and get a game at CU in either grade. I didnt speak to Andy because to me thats comes across whinging and being selfish. I would rather just cut and dry and start over then be costly to my team mates.

I would not be making generalisations about div 7 football after only training at Central United. I think they will find themselves alot closer to the bottom of the ladder than the top. This year div 7 will be a tough comp and I cant see CU getting close to the finals.

Adelaide Uni Vs Central United - by 5-6 goals. Where not that bad last season and will be strong early
Sacred Heart Vs Glenunga - Close game but Bourkey to get his first win as coach in his first game.
Modbury Vs Angle Vale - by 3-4 goals. Im expecting Modbury & TTG to be strong teams in this div
Flinders Uni Vs Athelstone - Close game but Athelstone will be strong at the start of the year
Mawson Lakes Vs TTG - Game of the round but Mawson Lakes just to get up.

We at Mawson Lakes, (while we don't try to!) have no problem in losing to C grade sides in Div 7. These clubs that run their C grade as a Div 7 A grade team are professionally run, and set the benchmark to all the other amateur clubs in increasing your depth at this level. We are playing Tea Tree Gully on Saturday, and with the large depth of numbers they have to choose from, plus the hundreds of juniors available to them, we are under no illusion that this weeks game will be tough. Mawson Lakes Football Club aspire to become like these professional clubs, with well run junior programs, but this will take time and a lot of hard work from everyone involved with the Saints.

As pointed out on this forum Ben, Henley have been successful in Division 7 in recent years, and have now jumped up to Division 6. While they might not be favourites to take out the Div 6 title, I have no doubt they will chalk up some wins against the lower ranked clubs (eg Ingle Farm) in this division and I am confident they will give a good account of themselves in 2010.

There are a few young blokes at CU who think its laughable that they(TTG, MOD) have been put in Div 7. They quite literally have the attitude that because they are C Grade they will be garbage... How horribly wrong they are.

You are kidding mate if you think D4R is better than D7. I coached a D4R/D3R side for 3 years, and i have watched D7 footy. While some of the better D4R sides may be able to hold their own, as a general rule D7 sides would beat D4R teams. D7 is a better standard.
