Yeah it will. Depending on what team rests certain players will determine who wins IMO.

Good hit out for us. Gaza have obviously lost a few but had a couple of players running around, that havent been mentioned on here, that will be very good D1 players if they do suit up during the year.

Thanks to the Gaza FC for the hitout.

They should have a pre-season knock out cup for all SAAFL clubs to enter, then we'd get an early glimpse of where clubs are at.

Cracking idea. Maybe like div 1-3 in one knock out comp, and div 4-6 in another. Held at Thebarton, the league would make some money over the bar. Should do it as a bit of a carnival over a couple of weekends, one comp Saturday, one Sunday. Same idea with a reserves comp also.

Perhaps the Easter Bunny could organise it and the Tooth Fairy could sing the anthem. Idealistic and realistic gentlemen

I think they mean something like the old Loxton carnival ;) which is definitely do-able... as realistically, not every team would want to participate.

Correct. We used to compete in the Loxton carnival. Good fun weekend. You could play shortened qtrs like 10-15 mins to fit more games in each day. Yes not every team would want to do it, but if it was run properly by the amatuer league then each year it would probably grow. Every team wants to play trial games at some stage, this would simply organise it for them.

it could also eliminate the need to organise as many trial matches - which can be a trial in itself

Agreed a good pre season and he could play AFL footy. Did he play in the Gaza trial?

Broadview super recruit, Scott Burnett has been sniffing around the hawk nest down on Bagsters Road tonight. Has strong ties with the cricket club, and is very good mates with a few boys down there, wouldn't be surprised if a clearance is lodged prior to round 1.
