Oh sh!t, completely forgot about that, cheers TT. So he's definitely going to Germany? Will be great to see the back of him. :)

Definitely in Germany mate. Saw a few lads recently... ALFC Lost a couple, gained a few.
Should be round the mark again.

Aha, cheers catch. I think every A grade CHB/FB in Div 5 will be very happy to see the back of him, very hard player to stop.

While AL is a side I hate I do rate them pretty highly and is a side we have really struggled against in recent years. If they come out this year in a similar fashion to what they played like last season they should easily play finals footy.

I dunno...the B grade comp was pretty good last season. Adelaide Lutheran and North Haven both had 15 game winning streaks (Luthies carried over from the previous year), plus Woody South Bs played in the Div 5 Grand Final the year before last before getting relegated in the most unlucky curcumstances.

Yeah fair enough Duncs, I expect your B's to be very strong although as HH3 mentioned Div5 reserves was pretty good last season and I think AL and NH being last years grand finalists deserve to be up the the top. Elizabeth will be dangerous and are certainly are team we must look out for though along with Woodville South who I also think will be pretty strong. I don't think much will seperate the top 4 at all, should be a real close comp up the top of the ladder this season.

Elizabeth will be top 2 no doubt in the reserves... If they have improved on last season they will be very tough to beat in d5r...

North Havens B Grade have lost aprox half their players along with the coach and assistant coach, I reckon top 4 but top in the minor round is unlikely

You mean Dene Steele, from Salisbury West?

I only spoke to him about 3 weeks ago - he did say he still hadn't signed at Westies at that point but said he'd probably stay though.

He did also say that a heap of blokes had left too.

That would have to be the one.

Yes Dene Steele from Salisbury West has signed with Para Hills, been training for a couple of weeks now and like it so he signed this week.

Where is this bloke playing as im sure there is a clearance in for him to go to Brahma Lodge?

The fine print on the CFL playing contract states "This contract does not come into effect until the player has been cleared from his previous club/league"

And i think u will find that the SAAFL has said that if u sign a player and send the paperwork into them they will date stamp it to stop guys signing various contracts and hold them to the earliest signed form, but then again this is the Lodge so nothing to see here.

My knowledge is that is incorrect but I may be wrong. Contracts do also state in bold underline down the bottom of the page
"The contract shall only be valid, when the player becomes registered with the club"

That is correct. Player must be aligned to the club before the contract becomes valid. SAAFL will keep records and time stamp contracts, but if he's not a current player it matters not until that clearance comes through.

So u wouldn't send them both in at the same time? Must a joke of contracts then as u can just sign as many as u want and tell your club to deny the clearances u want?

Can send both in, but the home club has the allocated time to deny transfers. If the player changes his mind while the clearance is approved, he can withdraw his request.

And yes, they are a bit of a joke and some blokes sign a ton every off season chasing dollars.
