PHOS Camden 3.7 (25)

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Wet weather more than often brings upsets. Maybe not four upsets though. Definitely there are 4 reasonably big upsets amongst those scores. Possibly Rostrevor OC beating Salisbury North was not a massive upset, although at home Salisbury North are tough to beat. Gepps X beating Broadview, opens up the race for relegation though and would please the locals in the big derby match.

Looking at the overall results, I'm not sure the upsets did the clubs in relegation territory much good. Gepps could have done without SHOC winning and also Goodie Saints I think. Leaves 3 clubs fighting for 2 relegation spots with PHOS Camden in the 3 unless there are some more really odd results

Although not seeing todays game, we have been improving every week and I have all confidence that we will beat PHOS and SHOC thus saving us from relegation for the 2nd year in a row.

Well done to the lads from Shoc in recording their 1st win for the season and a prised scalp at that. It just goes to show how much passion and rivalry the college clubs have with each other. For me, it should be embraced and rivalries like that are not too often built in Saafl because of promotion and relegation which I agree with wholeheartedly, but sometimes it's just good to be involved in a tradition. :)

the saints vs hawks? hmmm are the saints on the rise?

the phantoms and gaza? are gaza a contender or can the phos claim a big scalp on the road?

Rocs & Shocs? could be a beauty with shocs on the hunt

Gepps & St.Peters? is the winter freezing off the St.peters summer muscles? and can the bulldogs maintain the mongrel to maintain a place in Divy 1?

Henley vs Broadview... Classic game on its way... get to Shark Park 2:15pm to see true Div 1 footy at its best, entry is free!!

Down to the wire at Broadies on the weekend. Had a shot at goal with about 30 sec left but we missed it to lose by 5 points.

Broadview really havnt lived up to preseason expectation. Div 1 does seem to be very competetive this year, but always is I guess.

Not trying to have a massive go, but think most expected Broadview to make finals, and be a strong contender for the flag. As much as the poll at the top of the page has little merit, Broadview are still the 3rd most tipped side to win the flag...
I don't want to go back through this thread looking for examples of Broadview getting talked up, but as i say, think most expected them to be doing better than they are.

Broadies have had some significant injuries which has obviously taken it's toll, losing some players for lengthy periods of time or even the season hasn't helped the cause.

HAs given them the opportunity to have a look at some of the younger players in the Club at Senior Level though.

Realistically they should have beaten Henley a couple of weeks ago and were unlucky to lose last week to SPOC, if they had won those two it would be a different story.

I was one that tipped Broadview to finish in the top 5, as high as top 3 i was thinking with the pre season team. But seeing the number of injuries and changes on the team sheet each week, whether a win or loss, they are probably about where they belong. I cant think of atleast 7 players that wouldn't have played over 3-4 A grade games this year, that played last year. The younger players although full of beans, can't match it with the bigger A1 bodies for a full year.
