Well I think we would need everyone on deck a fair amount of luck. I'd be interested to see how many blokes are available finals time for Pembroke coming down from 1's to 2's and so on could be the smokey.

Flinders and phos both beat us by 20 goals second time round. It was 6 goals and 9 points respectively the first time round.Pembroke came from behind to knock us of in round 5 but we beat them by 20 odd points a couple of weeks ago. i have 15 of my C graders playin B grade now and clearly dont have the same depth as the first 12 rounds. I think PNU will have 3 teams playing finals (hopefully) but as a realist we wouldnt beat flinders without a huge influx of players who would more than likely be required for the reserves. Phos will play them(F PK) in the GF but i think you will find Eastern PaRK may be the other challenger....Still having said that, finals are funny things and strange things happen in finals.

What I was getting at with Pembroke is I think a fair amount of their current A grade may also be eligible for 2s come finals time and may give them the trickle down effect that will see them fairly strong.

funny you should say that. i was with nick jolly tonight (state u/23 chf) and he said to me the best player that stood him this year was Berry from Pembroke. He actually played C,s against us the first time round im told. I do see your point. Perhaps its not as in the bag for Flinders as i may think.

good luck to all teams in the major round. it was almost surreal to hear we will be playing finals on sunday, and as for some of the potential times and locations...i only hope hq is closed by 5am or we may not have an ump for our games....i still think flind are the team to beat.maybe 15/10 and all of the other 4 are not just there to make up the numbers. phos at 2/1,east pk 3/1(bit of a darky with the no b,s in the finals) and elim playoff teams PNU and Pemb id offer about 6/1. No matter what happens ill be out to watch a lotta the finals, see you on a sunday real soon.

due to the round 18 results and the change of finals combatants and venues there is a small adjustment of the odds from "wristbet"
Flinders Pk - 15/10...good value on the red hot favourite, undefeated in 17 rounds with a home ground advantage.
Phos - 3/1...looks the team to challenge f pk
Pemb - 5/1...tough game at phos this sunday but do have the double chance
E pk - 8/1...would need to win 4 finals on the trot.a tough ask
PNU - 50/1...win 4 away finals in a row starting at sunny east park.Norwood in 84 did it but it just doesnt happen.also have the a,s and b,s in finals which means many of the guns that played throughout the year are unavailable.

East park got over Pnu by 11 points.they kicked the last 3 goals in the last 5 mins.game could of gone either way but east park got the chocolates at home.good footy, good loud crowd and despite being completely gutted by the loss it was a pleasure to be involved in such a spirited honest contest.thanks to east park for the carton of froffies after the game.you were gracious hosts.good luck in the rest of the finals

Yes it was a great game of footy and a fantastic crowd. Good to see two teams just having a red hot go at the footy and no behind the play rubbish. I also thought the umpiring was pretty bloody good as well, although not much in the free he gave to us after a goal which resaulted in another goal and the game. Glad you enjoyed the froffies always good to play you blokes in any grade and with luck it will be on again next year.

The free after the goal in which you got another goal was for verbal abuse by one of my young players.hopefully he has learnt a key valuable lesson.(i hope),had that not have happened you could say we would have been shooting for a draw with that last kick of the game.but alas...shit happens.we all make mistakes.at least it gives the boys a chance to unwind for the nxt few weeks watching the a,s play.
