Anything can be turned into a drinking game.

Everytime Wes Legrand gets a vote, you have to scull - not sure you would make it past round 9 or 10 though !!!

theres a link on the saafl website

Not to sure if I'm looking in the right place but I went on the link and the only info it gave me was the TOP 4 for each club and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters. Is there anywhere we can find a list of all vote getters or even better a 3-2-1 for each round??

Each club was given their breakdown of votes. Every grade & every vote per club. Could you image how much space would be taken up if SAAFL put all that information on the website???
If you are so keen to find out how many votes you got - then ask someone at your club for the information that was handed out on Wednesday night...

What - like every goalkicker and then put in their magazine so it takes up 20 odd pages....

I kept watch for ya Jimmy, you didnt poll any! 8)

I've worked out why now. Obviously you need to be the umpires brother or best mate to win a medal - some of the votes given are a joke.

Ashman - lets do a deal - you play in the C's next year and I'll umpire for HV. Guarantee you will win the medal with 54 votes......

Food for thought:

C4 final table
Division C4
Team Gms W D L For Agst Pts %
Golden Grove 18 18 0 0 1908 517 36 78.7%
Prince Alfred OC 18 16 0 2 1651 664 32 71.3%
Adelaide University 18 12 0 6 1349 958 24 58.5%
Adelaide Lutheran 18 10 1 7 1372 1065 21 56.3%
Pooraka 18 8 1 9 1163 1067 17 52.2%
CBCOC 18 8 0 10 1147 1330 16 46.3%
Hope Valley 18 6 0 12 987 1390 12 41.5%
Fitzroy 18 6 0 12 894 1340 12 40%
Plympton 18 5 0 13 900 1244 10 42%
Unley 18 0 0 18 448 2244 0 16.6%

Other than 8th & 9th, the percentage for the year is very consistent from high to low

But have a look at total votes given:

Undefeated Golden Grove players were awarded 75 out of a possible 108 votes - thats 69%
PAOC won 16 and their players were awarded 71 out of a possible 108 votes - thats 66%
Uni won 12 and their players were awarded 62 out of a possible 108 votes - thats 57%
Lutheran won 10 and their players were awarded 84 out of a possible 108 votes - that's 78%
Pooraka won 8.5 and their players were awarded 58 out of a possible 108 votes - thats 54%

The top 5 teams are very consistent with their positions and team percentage other than ?????????????.................I could keep going but I think I've proven my point.....................

are you saying the umpires are lutheran's?

i noticed today one of our lads got 1 vote in a game that he did his ankle at the 5 minute mark of the second quarter yet in three games where he kicked 7, 7 and 10 goals he got a total of 1 vote. that's weird.

Our percentage was a bit higher than that Jimmy as we had forfiets in rounds 16 and 17 so it would be more like 75 votes from a possible 96 if my math is correct thats 78% of the votes we played in, i see your point though. i also found it wierd that especially in the early half of the season when we were winning by big margins we only once in 9 games got 3-2-1 in the votes??

And our blokes are not sure what they did wrong when they beat a certain team by 22 goals and couldn't get a vote.................

Ah Jimmy, it's something to do with the consistent "inconsistencies" that umpires have in their makeup.

Maybe we need a divisional umpire award that team captains only vote on with a zero to three rating, would be good to reward and recognise those that do a good job and highlight zero ratings for those that perform poorly.

A mate of mine used to umpire at A1 level and i was speaking with him the other day and he said when it came to giving votes he would most of the time let the 2nd ump do it, he said it was too hard to really work out who was the best on ground and umpire the game. this is at a high level, imagine being a club umpire at low levels like ours and having to pick 3 best players! cant be easy, having said this im sure there was at least 1 good player in a 22 goal thumping! All round great team effort maybe Jimmy ;)

I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
