taken from the SAAFL website,

St Paul's College OS 19.17 131 v Wingfield Royals 12.08 80

I think that this would be more correct than second hand "pub stories"

yeah went back to our club last night saying st pauls had won after looking at the website sat night.would you expect anyhting else from the cowboys who run the league.we had a player get 8 weeks wed night after getting reported by the other clubs team manager after the umpires didnt even report him!.on our game houghton played very well, hard running team who get numbers behind the ball very well then run hard.halfway thru the first quater they were 2 goals up and were already playing 2 guys loose in defence in front of barnes.we picked a good day to play the worst game i have every be involved in.very good ruckman with big hair who uses the clearences well.well bradman you going to play on horse? i would love to c that.hope wingfield belt the crap out of friars and st pauls win this week and get to have a go at friars again.look forward to hearing bradmans view on the game!.

WOW!! Wingfield what can I say, definately the team to beat....they play up tempo footy playing on at all costs and just running so hard they never let you settle into a game....have some stars aswell in Skunk (No.20) and Kaz Miller (No.22) these boys can play!

Blacks boys you guys will have a big game on your hands next week!!

Dutchy and Hendo sorry about the weekend lads disappointing for both your A's and B's....you blokes played your guts out all year you should be proud.

What a joke we are at Kenilworth....Could they pick a further ground for 2 teams from the north to travel to!
Just goes to show the amateur league just see $$$ signs....obviously don't take the clubs into consideration.

What has that got to do with $$$$ signs?

Just playing Devil's Advocate and saying have a look at where the other games are scheduled to be played and what teams are involved first....

Amateur League asks clubs who wants to host finals they still have to pay the $1k even though they are a neutral ground.
Just doesn't make sense to play 2 teams from the North all the way down South :?

jeez thats a bit tough on Rosewater asking them to host a final when they are still involved themselves. FFS what were the SAAFL thinking  . I dont think Rosewater would in a finacial position to fork out the $1k two weeks in a row and esp when they arent involved. Having said that they did put on a very well orgainised day on Saturday for the Div 4 Elims. Plently of Volunteers that you dont usually see in the minor rounds and visiting teams were well looked after.

have a look at the other game,(Blackfriars vs Wingfield). Are the amateurs frightened that if they arranged that game to far from Wingfield then they might not show up. St Pauls vs Houghton should have been played at some of the following grounds, Hope Valley, Golden Grove, Modbury etc. This would have made more sense that at Kenilworth.
