haha yeah im all for that and as mentioned having them in the cgrade super league theyd like win the flags most seasons

i think there are figures at uni who believe their thirds can dominate div 6 but they never do, for the underlying theory that their cgraders eventually cant be **** playing div 6 high tuned paid footballers

so theyll come to div 7, like this year, return to their highest heights, and come next year when theyre back in div 6, by round 10 theyll missing playing fellow cgraders once again

You are very presumptuous, marbles.

Rather than mess with almost every division above to please a few C-graders, my proposal is to leave it as is, but with a few caveats:

- A-Grade clubs are subject to promotion/relegation between D6 & D7, but C/D grade clubs are not
- C/D Grade clubs are subject to promotion/relegation between D7 & D8, but A-Grade clubs are not

- Such that at the end of the season the two lowest placed C/D clubs (regardless of where they finish) in D7 swap with the Grand Finalists in D8

...but by the sounds of how marbles describes it, none of these teams have any ambition to be promoted or achieve anything except win an easy premiership in the lowest division possible.

how come teams are dropping out of div 7, but not div 8?

Do you have any proof to support your theory that 25 SHOC and 25 Flinders Park footballers would magically appear if they were in Div 8 rather than 7?

Additionally do you have any proof to support your theory that PACOC would spontaneously lose 25 players if they were to go up to Div 7?

How does Modbury fit into your theory of C Graders not wanting to play Div 7?

They would lose 8 as they go to a 3 man bench in Div 7 from the 7 man bench in Div 8. ;)

Maybe marbles' problem is that his club might be losing out on the subs of 8 or so players. At about $500 a pop, thats a few more $ they have to find to fund their A grade.

PAC are talking about an F Grade next year. They might need a G as well! ;)

yeah mate ttg in div 8 is proof of 25 players magically appearing. i 'presume' theyll not want a return to div 7 next year

i 'presume' shocs, flinders parks, smosh and possibly modbury will nominate also for div 8 next year

This makes a lot more sense, Q.

But what if for example North Pines are the best placed A-Grade side in D7, and finish 4th? Surely a side that finishes 4th in Div 7 doesn't deserve the right to play in D6 next year?

In that situation, the 9th & 10th placed teams from D6 get a reprieve.

And if the 10th placed team in D6 wants/needs to come down?

Well you would need to make clear cut rules. One in either direction, so:

a) Relegated teams from D6 stay in D6 if a D7 A-Grade club (whom finished 3rd or lower) does not accept promotion

or

b) The next in line D7 A-Grade club must accept promotion if a D6 club wishes to be relegated

I'd lean with scenario a).

Because nobody wants to play against Henley's STACKED D Grade side.
