Greenacres throwing $200 a game at a Div 1 player and 2 B graders from Gepps Cross.
Someone once said on this forum they don't pay their players, I think this says otherwise.

I wonder if Gepps people went to Greenies for a look, would they find anyone worth approaching?
Or will someone come back with the old adage," we are playing for the jumper, playing with our mates" or something similar

Interesting text from your coach to our club as well on this matter

PS no one from greenies has come on this site and said we dont pay players, in fact it seems common knowledge that we do, but that is not coming from us either.

And pay rather well too, but if you got the cash why not, as long as you get the right players i no of one good pick up you boys have got.

Have Div 4 teams finalised the '09 coaches yet & when are they looking at starting their pre-seasons?

Im not sure if our coaching panel for The Roys '09 has been finalised just yet but probally looks like Lethal will be in charge of the A's with the Old Silver Fox as his assisant again which will be good for the club, not sure for the B's they are still sorting through applicants as Sid has moved up to Qld with work commitments which is disappointing but wish him all the best as it was good playing under him & as for the C's not sure if the young Punky Rooster has decided if he is to take charge or not yet but hopefully they announce all appointments soon!

Bring on Footy in '09!

The GX boys are getting stuck into Greenies aren't they!

Is it because they are the closest club to you?

Or is it because they have won more div 1 premierships than you ha ha?!

Shrek, I don't think it's Sleep. Not far off the mark though. Greenies are making a play at a few boys out north.

Not sure if you guys read the Div 3 thread or not but Salisbury are staying up, so you get to welcome Unley back. Enjoy the long drive down there GG boys.

Well assuming Hanson and Flynn Sinowhatever are staying it mustbe Page, Oliver or Jarvis. I don't even know who they are but they are the names I hear from out there.

Maybe they have got Cox from Para Hills? Ha ha.

Not that you'd be aware of this, mr clever, but for years all of the clubs in and around our area including Kilburn have had a 'gentlemans agreement', instigated by Kilburn's Phil Martin by the way, of not trying to poach each others players. In my experience over many years, all clubs except Greenies have abided by that, whether it be crap or not, your president was the driver behind the idea. Last year Greenies got 2, supposedly paid Philpott $150.00 until he broke his leg. A guy who wasn't prepared to work hard enough to make a fist of Div 1 so he took the soft option and left for easy money.
If clubs want to participate in 'open slather' then let the games begin.
As was said earlier, have they got anyone worth pinching, I think not!

It's all well and good not pinching players when you are already in div 1, but if you're Greenacres, in div 4 and want to go up to div 1 how else are you going to do it?

With the U/19 comp now defunct there should be heaps of young guys available. Do some digging for names/numbers or is Danny & his committee beyond that?
Now that is just plain dumb, don't you think?
