You can hardly say that being in a division for 4 years is unheard of.

Considering that Walkerville have played finals 3 out of the last 4 years, and were about 3 goals away from a GF a few years back when they were beaten by Athelstone is a bit more of an effort then mediocre. Constantly finishing outside the top 5 would be.

I agree that looking over Walkies time in Div 2 they have gone straight back down, maybe that is due to a loss of players or the players they have arent up to the standard of Div 2. But you wouldnt think they are the only team, in any division, who go up and then back down the next year. Salisbury have done it over Div 3 and 4 in the last few years, does that mean theydont want to be in Div 3? I doubt it.

Walkies pay out plenty to their priority boys and are too scared to make a permanent shift to a higher div because they will lose some of their favourite girls.

You have said it Suri they are not good enough to go up a div and too scared to make the changes necessary to go up.

each to their own i guess lozza. You think Walkerville are a mediocre club who are "scared" to go up a division, which i think would be disgraceful for any club to be that way. If a club doesnt want to go up to a higher division then they will never win a flag, which is why you play footy.

If you really want to go into clubs that dont want to play in a higher division look no further then SMOSH/West Lakes. Although they were going to get relegated for finishing 2nd bottom they were asked if they wanted to stay in Div 2 since Edwardstown were going to the SFL but said no. But a team like Scotch who finished bottom said they would stay up when they were asked. Perfect example, according to your thinking, of a club that is mediocre and to scared to play up.

On the other hand, hats off to Salisbury who were suppose to go back to Div 4 but when asked to stay in Div 3 they jumped at the chance

Are you saying Walkerville are mediocre but there is another mediocre club as well?

SMOSH probably made a good decision for their club. They didn't have the team to compete in div 2 and are relying on attracting young players from the school. If being down a division makes it easier to do this then they may be able to play in a higher division in the long run.

Walkerville just recruit players for big dollars who aren't good enough to play higher!

So Piccahu is from Portland
I look forward also Lozza when Kilburn play them
Portland a club with no tradition, 3 clubs in one
Would be more respected if they had kept Riverside as their identity as they did have tradition

Very true 151!

I have been in the Portland clubrooms. Probably 3 photos on the wall. There is nothing showing the great history of Riverside. Some of the greats from that club must be ashamed to be associated with Portland.

We have plenty of tradition...

Plenty of clubs around that have been formed by mergers...

How about you blokes actually put what club you 'support' in the left hand column...

Yes the cop was good. The drive there was even more dangerous, we had a lunatic driver (local) doing 120kms around bends, whilst King Cains (Rosewater) was trying to give her a little touch up at the same time....[/quote]
