Can anybody explain this best player point system the SAAFL has brought in on the website and what is it exactly for? I don't see how accurate it can be....Flinders Uni have been pumped now in 2 games yet James Darwin (no offence to him) is according to this system the best player in the comp at the moment?

Points system is going to be trialed (3 years time i believe) each player is rated according to where they played juniors, if they played SANFL, AFL etc etc naturally AFL attracts the highest amount of points and then down the ladder to your junior players who attract no points i believe. Each week you will have a cap of points that you cannot exceed. Its basically a salary cap, as clubs ATM rought that system.

Thats a rough outline, may be a few errors

As I understand it Riddler is that after the game when you put in your top 5 players to the iScore (or whatever) the SAAFL then use these for there best players on the website. So if James Darwin has been best for Flinders Uni in the 2 games he would be on 10 points as given by his club. I would not be using the points system on the website as a guide to who is the best player in the comp.

You wouldnt think so. Would be to easy to wrought the system, as it is picked by your own club (normally the coach).

The MLFC would also like to wish Blackwood recruit Dan Phillips well in his recovery from a damaged ACL suffered in an innocuous incident last Saturday at Mofflin Reserve. Dan recently moved to the area and in his 1st season with the club has imposed himself as a quality bloke on and off the field. At 32 we still hope there is games left in him for the Saints.
